I have a new TSDZ2B fitted. Electrics connected. battery fully charged. Display works. Odometer works. Brakes are in the off position, Throttle and PAS not working. The motor has never started. Utube video suggests the built in control is toast. Any advice gratefully received. thanks Peter

When you press the + and - buttons on the remote, do you see the indicator change on the display? Do you have the brake sensors and throttle plugged into the correct ports and pushed in all the way? Have you tried unplugging the brake sensors?

OK pressing +and - nothing. The remote is vlcd5. There are three identical ports for throttle and brakes. I have just disconnected all of these. When I tried the throttle in the central port the motor started but did not respond to throttle and the only way to turn off was to remove the throttle plug. Also got a message EO4 no idea what that means.

The center port is for the throttle. E04 is throttle error. Leave the throttle disconnected and try pedaling the bike.

The throttle plug can be difficult to install correctly. Notice the two arrows on the top of the throttle plug. These should be on the side towards the top of the VLCD display. Since the motor ran with only the throttle plugged in, it may be that the plug was in backwards. Also, you will not have any assistance from the motor if you are in PAS 0.

What voltage battery is it (how many series cells), and what is the actual voltage on it at this moment? What version (voltage) is the TSDZ2 system? If the battery voltage is above the controller's cutoff the system may turn on and "work" but not operate the motor (also if the battery is too low).

HI The plug is in correctly. The PAS is non functioning on all settings.
To be clear, you are able to change the level that is shown on the display, with both the buttons on the display or the buttons on the remote? It is displaying the level but does not move the motor when you apply torque to the pedals? Are you actually trying to ride the bike or testing it by hand cranking the pedals while it is suspended or upside down?

Hi away at the moment will check when home. TSDZ2B. 250w 36v Battery from another bike works. Well. Not Bosch etc.
It's not whether the battery works or not, just whether it's actual voltage state matches the HVC / LVC of the TSDZ2B that you are trying to use it on.

I am not clear what changed. Got home just plugged battery in. And now all works. Nothing altered. Loose connection maybe but I am perplexed. Thanks to all for the advice Hopefully not a sleeping fault which will recur.

If the battery voltage was higher than the HVC, and dropped sitting there or from use on the other bike, you could have that result.

Same if battery voltage was lower than LVC and it was recharged.

Otherwise the most likely thing is a loose connection, which if it healed itself is also likely to fail by itself again at some point. :/ Personally I don't like that sort of thing to happen on the road, so I prefer to investigate the cause and fix it before a ride. ;)
