Nissan Leaf uses A123 battery cells?!

Take a look at this video:

I'm using A123 cells that look exactly the same as the Leaf cells. That would mean that A123 is selling these cells for a extremely low price to Nissan...

If I'm not mistaken, the Leaf uses LiMnO2 chemistry pouch cells, and A123 only makes LiFePO4 chemistry cells.

Ehh, every pouch cell for RC stuff looks pretty much identical. The stuff I got that barely does 5-10C from 5 years ago looks physically identical to the stuff I just got that does +40C.

It's layers of rectangle shaped material vacuum sealed into a foil pouch. Not a lot of other ways to make it look I guess.
 
Still gonna be cool when they start hitting the junkyards. 8) Time to start making freinds in the junkyards and nissan dealers. :mrgreen:
