I operate several pedicabs with identical hub motors and controllers. Three are working perfectly, but one started failing right after water got into the wiring box. Since then, the motor barely runs. It’s clunky and the brake fail safe no longer cuts power to motor. It acts the same with or without the hall plug connected.
Controller is known good (swapped with others, they work fine). Motor phase windings: show equal resistance, and generate voltage when rolled. Hall sensors: each flips 0–5 V when wheel is rotated. 5 V and ground are present at the hall connector. Connections are direct, no corroded junction box in between.
Has anyone run into this? I know it’s very specific and technical, but any advice on next steps would be hugely appreciated. Just pointing me in the right direction but be a huge help
