Peugeot - E-Speriment!!!

What a beautiful, beautiful build!

If controller cooling is an issue and the controller is a small one (like the eZee),
mounting it to the water bottle bosses is the most boss way to keep it cool.
I've even got mine un-sealed for full flow through of (ooooo!) twenty mph air!
It can't overheat. It also can't pass more than 20A. Justin's Cycle Analyst gives much of the programability
of a Zuper Sweet Kelly controller: that CA is an amazing bit of brainpower in black.

But your bike: I love it 'cos it's not only fast, but it's NEAT and bike-looking. Am a sucker for ebikes that look like bicycles.

Kudos, kudos, kudos,

r.

What about waterproofing in this case Reid? What did you do?

so to not detrack from this thread,
here's what I did. earlier pages show the process of epoxy-sealing the little controller board.
the box is OPEN to the air and water and unwise geckos

As far as heat goes, I haven't had a problem yet. Thebox does get some air through it naturally, because the lid is not air tight. However, I don't have direct flow on the controller. It does sit in an area where there is lots of room though, and nothing touching it.

After my 23 mile ride to work at 27-30mph, I have noticed the controller gets a little warm to the touch, but not very much. Not nearly as warm as my 2amp charger. That gets noticably warm when charging.

The battery doesn't get warm at all from riding, even at high speeds. Only the BMS gets a bit hot out the top of it when balancing the cells at the end of its charge cycle.

I think I might mount mine in the rear box i get too, then if it gets too hot then try some air vents, & then if this doesn't work then take it out.

How hot/warm can contro£ers get but still be ok anyway in fact?
