Hi all, I'm looking to move this Polarna M4 project bike out of my garage in Vallejo, CA. I've moved on to an Aventon Aventure 2. The components are good quality and in good shape, as described below.
Vehicle History & Specs:
Mileage: ~700 miles before the original BMC failed.
Motor: 750W Geared Brushless Rear Hub (strong, no hall sensor issues noted).
Battery: 48V 14Ah (stored indoors, holds charge well, includes original charger).
Wheels: 20" x 4.0" Alloy wheels (mag-style, no spokes).
Brakes: Hydraulic Disc Brakes (front and rear).
Suspension: Full suspension (rear shock + pneumatic front fork).
Heavy-duty rear rack (factory)
Current Technical State: After 700 miles of sheer fun, the original proprietary Polarna controller failed. I had a local shop install a generic monochrome display and aftermarket controller just to get it back on the road -- it was impossible to get any other tech support during Covid ;o<
Functional: Throttle and PAS work fine.
Not Wired: Integrated head/tail lights and brake-motor-interrupts are not currently connected to the aftermarket unit.
Display: Speedometer is uncalibrated/inaccurate on the current monochrome screen.
The Potential: This ebike can be happily ridden as-is with the above limitations. Or is a great donor bike or a platform for a "brain transplant." It’s mechanically similar to the Engwe EP-2 Pro and may other Chinese folding 20" fat-tire bikes, so sourcing a replacement controller should be feasible if-desired. Or use it as a great source of spare parts and 2nd battery for an existing e-bike owner.
Included Extras:
Spare front hydraulic disc set.
Original color LCD screen, controller, and thumb throttle.
Allen trunk-mount rack and a Bell bike helmet.
Price: $300 Cash
Location: Vallejo, California (Local pickup preferred -- but we can discuss me delivering in the Bay Area if-needed. Shipping would likely exceed the price...).
Thanks!
