Problem with an ebike vendor in AUS. What to do?

I paid over $1K last October 2015 for some Stealth bomber aftermarket parts from Quigley Motorsports, and have yet to rec anything.
He stayed in communique up through the time dead-line to file a paypal claim.. then poof gone.

Part 1 of this post is to warn the 'rather small' stealth community of a problem seller..........

Part 2 of this post is to ask for any type of advice on how to get this guy off center. He is activtly selling parts today.....

What I have done to-date:
1. Contact him through his website, and email. All comms stopped after the paypal end of recourse time.
2. Contact him through stealth HQ...... he tells stealth HQ he's on it.... but nothing happens since Oct 15.
3. Contacted my local Law Enforcement.... nothing they will do since I'm in Tx, and seller is in AUS.
4. Contacted his local AUS Law Enforcement..... since it's internet sales, it is very low priority.
5. Contacted my cc company.... they defer to paypay.
6. Contacted Paypal... they say tuff luck since time period has elapsed.

Hopefullly this thread will save others from a repeat performance of my loss of $1K USD.

Please share-paste this public svc announcement around so people do not get burned like me.


Just a public svc announcement for the small ebike community.... I've been ripped by a Stealth Dealer in AUS per below.... Please share with your circle to avoid this guy.

Quigley took my payment of over $1000 US last Oct, 2015...... he lead me on via email until my paypal recourse time was up.... then poof.. no response.

His website is up and running...... he sells stealth bikes through stealth...... and his own stealth mod parts.

I ordered a kickstand, fenders, work stand..... and rec'd nothing.

Stealth is working on this, and I've tried contacting his local AUS police, but dealing out of county is very difficult.


WARNING - do not buy from Quigley Motorsports from AUS.... he will take your money and not deliver the goods. He has $1K of mine since last Oct 15, and will not answer emails.

There may be a valid explanation ( accident, illness, fire flood etc etc)
But,.. never smart to let a online deal drag on past the Paypal claim date, no matter how genuine you feel the seller is. :?

This is good advice to anyone buying online. And don't wait the last limit, 10 days past promised delivery date, is a good time to file a claim. Even when you have to cancel the claim because you received the goods a few days later, it does help to train the sellers to be reliable.

Yeah sage advice. He assured me parts would come, and this delay was due to moving his business or something like that. He is a member of ES as well so I thought all was good.
He cont to sell parts, a guy got a kickstand last week.
So I'm not sure why he chose me to get hosed?

Please share this with the "small" stealth community... I'll keep the pressure and tell the community until I get parts or refund.

I've got to think bad press is more costly than sending me my parts of refund? no?

I would change the title to the vendor's name; also go to all the other sites that you can find, for example pedelecs.co.uk, with the same story. This guy needs to realize there's a cost to cheating. Also, since he was supposed to mail you the item (obviously), you may get some traction from mail fraud. Maybe there's a way to stop allowing him to send parts to the US based on your experience.

2old.... thx for the advice. I know IFCC has helped me on a past guitar deal, but they only support US deals. It is FBI internet fraud division.

I'll try them tomorrow. What worked for me was to slowly turn the heat up on the guy until a police office finally called the individual, and guess what... he just forgot and promptly sent the item.

I'm trying to do the same here. If someone lives near this business, and can connect my story to the local police, perhaps I can get some traction.

I am happy to share the carefully documented payment email trail and paypal trail for any authorities.

Please pass the word.

Well I don't know if it's a coincidence, but last night after my internet blitz on QMS experience, I rec'd an email from QMS staff saying they are working on fulfilling my order, and apprec my patience.
I'll pull all of this down after I get a pkg of good from Aus land!

Too late for OP, but to expand on what Hillhater said: If you pay by Paypal and don't get your stuff by the Paypal deadline, always file a dispute on the day before the deadline regardless of whether the stuff is on its way. If the goods come later, the dispute is resolved, otherwise Paypal will give you your money back. The important thing is to register the dispute. Everything can be sorted out later. A dispute is not a complaint. It simply registers that the stuff hasn't come by the deadline.
