Normally I wouldn't respond to something like this but you are so out of line I have to...

Please go re-read the email that Brett supposely sent his Chinese employee (re: Chinese are money worshipping greedy shitty people, etc etc.) Do you think that is no different than calling Arab - humus eating xxx or calling the French - xxx monkey?

Second, you really need to go do some studying about Chinese history. For someone who brings up their heritage, you don't seem to know jack! Look up some stuff about the Mongol race (Mongol Altaic) and Han's. Read about the Hans and how they eliminated many race/ethnic group in an endless war to create unified country (and this still happens today with the Tibetan and Uigurs). While at it - look up European and Arab/Persian empire and tell these people how race didn't play into their history (yes they were there too). While at it - do some reading on modern history about Chinese community in various countries and how some are excluded or included based on regions/dialect.

Its amazing what you could say and believe its true - oh by the way, I'm a first generation immigrant from that side of the world. That mean crap if you don't know your history. I'm proud of my background but I don't make up stuff saying its not in their culture. Go ask some black guy in China if they don't feel racism (I won't say what they call them in Chinese). Hah! Chinese not understanding racism is biggest crapola I heard in long time.

He is basically tying to bribe me in order to get my stock back, how the hell can you do business in china with people like this,
I paid this guy a high wage for chinese standards for 2 years, he told me he doesn't want the job, now he wants more money to get my stock back.
First he said I owed him 2 weeks pay, but then he realised he was paid 2 weeks in advance, so now his story is its holiday pay for last xmas!!! Just give me my stock back you bloody thief, after I had stock stolen before I made sure this guy signed an agreement saying that all stock kept in the office was mine.
Beware of dealing with some chinese, you guys think i'm trying to rip you off, how the hell can I carry on a business when my workers just make off with the stock and make up some excuse I owe them money in order to get it back.
I did in fact make him an offer to get the stock back but he wouldn't take it, he wants more money.

I've been puting off getting police involvement over in china, but there is no choice now, this guy just want give the stock back unless I give him holiday pay for last xmas.............sounds like bribery to me,

I wont be airing my grievances on a public forum, its in the hands of solicitor and police now, a warning to others, my business relied on trusting the employee, I got ripped off big time once before, I thought this guy was honest, but this is rediculous situation to be in, I know alot of people are waiting on goods, maybe you can get some idea of how difficult it is to run a small business when dealing with and relying on chinese workers. Its very unfortunate that I'm making sweeping generalisation on chinese people, there are heaps of goods ones cant put them all in the same basket, but there is a mentality of rip off the foreigners if you can get away with it. Some might say thats racist view, nope its my experience, no racism involved, dont have a racist bone in my body, I hope the chinese court system will this time be advanced and honest enough to have this guy put away or at least a hefty fine, I've been trying for 3 weeks to negotiate with this guy, but he just wont give in, he wants another 2 weeks wages for a holiday he had over xmas, I cant afford to throw away money, I have people wanting refunds that have been waiting a long long time already.
Only choice is for me to try resolve it through chinese court system and see what happens.

Your doing a great injustice to chinese people and just making a bad reputation worse, my reputation is pretty much down the tube, I started out intending to make the best kits I could, but just ongoing dishonest people have pretty much put me out of biz, I'm the one who takes all the flak, but I wish it was more obvious on whats involved to actually do this business.

i really dont want to post on the forum about this, but emil ( hui huang) wont answer my emails.
lets look a bit more closely at the "apparent" money I owe him
He resigned on the 14 th of May, at that time he was owed 2 weeks wages ( 1250rmb) , I accepted his resignation, I arranged someone else to pay the money to him, he refused saying he wants 2,500rmb.
At first he claimed it was the wage owing to him, I pointed out to him, that at his request I had changed the pay arrangement so that he got some pay in advance, 2 weeks in advance ( he had actually asked for one month in advance I told him lets meet halfway, so we agreed to 2 weeks in advance). So he told the guy that was to give him the money and get the stock back that it wasn't correct, he wants 2,500rmb is owed to him. But once I pointed out he had forgotten about the pay being 2 weeks in advance, he then changed his story. Now he wants 2,500rmb because he had a 2 week holiday during xmas/chinese new year, if he had a problem with not being paid for that period, its never surfaced up until now. We made a work agreement and there was no holiday pay included, I'm a small business, very very very small business, I cant afford to pay someone for not working,
Lets look at the wage he was getting: 2,500rmb per month. A typical managers wage in a large ebike factory is around 2.000rmb, so this guy is getting more than a manager in a factory, workers in factories will get from 800 to 1200rmb typically per month. So here he is sitting on what in chinese terms is a very high wage.
In fact the agreement I made with him was 2,000rmb per month and 500 bonus if work was good, although some months he's work was not good I still payed him the full wage with bonus ( the reason I did that was I knew he would cause problems if I didnt' give him the 2,500rmb).
So for me this extra money he's asking for, is simply a way to try get more money out of me, its black and white, his first try to get more money didn't work so he found another reason to ask for more money.
So this guy has my stock, he's asking for more money than is owed to him, in fact I said to him lets meet half way i'll give you an extra weeks pay and he wouldn't accept it. I cant afford to throw away money to this guy, i'm struggling enough as it is, I just want my stock back and for this guy to take his 1250rmb that is owed and just get on with his life.
He has no interest in ebikes, he has a big interest in money, its very unfortunate he's chosen to air my personal emails to him on a public forum, especially considering he signed an agreement when he started work that any information relating to the business would not be made public.
So thats the situation folks, theres my dirty laundry out in public, pretty much since i've begun this business its been a case of endless problems with dishonest greedy chinese, I'm not saying that all chinese are like that!!! but its been my downfall, I've been naieve enough to think I could trust people, and they've really shown me a side of human nature I would prefer not to have seen. Sometimes I think its the stress of high population and making ends meet that makes for the dishonesty that can be experienced in chinese business, but there is a culture of 'rip off the foreigner if you can get away with it", in my experience there is no denying that exists.........no racism involved, my experince and perception of whats continued to happen to me over time.

You must think the people here are pretty stupid. This thread started in January, and you are now trying to blame everything on an employee dispute less than a month old...over less than $200. Oh and btw, we already know that you used the same excuse dating back as far as 2007. Just pay your employee and ship what's been paid for by customers or give them refunds. Then get out of the e-bike business, since you give it a bad image.

What Brett says is only One Side of the Case.I will tell you all the details. So,now i know what type of man Brett is.


I will not bribe anyone!!!! I do not know why he use this word. It´s him who wants to bribe me!! He does not pay his employee.
Wage at first year is 2000+500 RMB (500RMB bonus) very clear on contract. Roger(another Chinese) is a witness, he also signed on our contract.
And we had another agreement when contract was due. I told him I will not ask for any raise on wage, he had only to pay me 2500 per month.He said: thank you for hard-work, business’s not good, but surely it would be very promising biz and i will have year bonus.He even told me old-age pension. I thought that was a big joke and replied him: you just pay me 2500RMB per month, no need bounus,that’s enough! Because I do not need any myth from him, wage and work are very fair!!!

Holiday xmas, i came to work everyday, I though that there’ll be more orders. He did not mention anything about pay on xmas for those 2 weeks. I log into skype everyday and find that he was not on. So, I just did my normal tasks as he told, also time consuming!!!
Finally the day he came up online, he said it was holiday. The truth is that it’s his holiday , not mine!!
At first ,he said there should be no wage, since it’s holiday. I reasoned him that it’s not fair, every rule made by you?? And at last we agreed that: pay is 1250RMB for the month. But he has to pre-pay another 1250RMB,whatever how we ends. I have to make my salary more secure, in case he does this way again!!
The reason he said like this is that he worries that i can work for other persons to do ebike biz, hell no! Give back the pay! I hate ebike biz!!!!
He always thinks that the salary is high, to tell you the truth ,it’s very common.
He always mentioned to me that how poor and how hard the workers at mill are.I know very much why he told that.
Because I spend time ,I lose other chances to work for him, I live my own room, I spend my own food. I use my own laptop, my own mobile…..
He just needs someone work for him for zero salary!!!
I do not know why what happened with him this time, he intended to make things happen like this, maybe some advantages for him? Ok, better for me! I am fed up with his bossy attitude!!

What I can understand is why anyone would be in business if they don't have some capital or cash reserve to offer some refunds. It doesn't matter if all your stock go up in flames. if You take money from customer and if you cant deliver product you refund the money Its that simple. If you have spent the customers money and cant offer a refund its 100% your fault its your business your the name on the door so to speak.
