Hi guys, long time lurker but finally decided to ask for some help since I can't find information regarding this.

I have 2 ebikes,
1- direct drive hub 36V, 500W (9C clone, I guess),KT controller, LCD3 screen
2-recently got a bafang 48V geared hub motor with DPC-18 screen for a full suspension mountain bike

So, I'm used to the pas levels in the KT bike and the bafang PAS just seems lousy. Currently at 0-5 levels and at level 2 I already have maximum power (it's going up to 900W). Can it be programmed to behave like the KT controller-screen? Do you program the screen or the controller?

KT pas levels--just limits power, unlimited speed.
1-100W
2-200W
3-300W
4-400W
5-700W

Can only find information for the mid drives, not for hubs

I would also like to know if programing hub motor version controller is possible
Throught the screen there are usualy limited number of settings that you can change but programing like bbsxx with a programing cable would be great

Yeah but those are kt controller, these ones that come with bafang hub motors are some unknown brand

The Bafang controllers and a lot of cheap generic controllers use a speed based throttle control, while the KT uses a power based throttle control. You can’t change that behavior since that’s how it’s designed. If you use a Cycle Analyst, you could make any controller behave like any of the throttle modes, because it has current, voltage, and speed feedback loops. There’s a section called Throttle Control Modes in my Newbie FAQ in my signature, if you want more info.

What about other settings such as regenerative braking? Right now that the only thing missing for me to switch to those cheap controllers
