Replaced damaged 48v controller with a 60v.Wanted a higher top speed but Google A.I. said 60v has less torque.

1000w DD hub motor.60v 40a square wave controller with 2 13s 3p batteries in parallel.It is a little slow to accelerate from a stop but once going it has good torque.I want a higher top speed but don't want to lose torque.

The sinewave controller will give you good torque at low speeds since it's a 50 amp controller you should get better top speed also .
 
No reason a 60v should have less torque than 48v everything else equal. Torque will be a function of phase amps. Most controllers are rated for battery amps, but higher battery amps should translate to higher phase amps. At low speeds and full throttle, 60v has the potential to give you more phase amps than 48v for a given battery amps.

It's the other way round. At low speed, you don't need a high voltage on the battery for high phase amps, as the BEMF is low. The voltage difference between BEMF and battery voltage has to be high enough to drive high currents. High voltage only helps for higher speed, not for more torque at low speed.
A different thing is the max battery current. With P=U*I, of course you need less battery current for the same power with higher voltage and you run into the battery current limitation at higher power.

With full throttle, you are hanging in the phase current limitation normally at low speed, at higher speed in the battery current limitation.
