Hi everyone,
My very first post here :)
I bought myself an ESKUTE C100 250watt e bike last week.

It has a S866 LCD screen.

Im trying to enter the settings function, but whenever i hold the + and - button, a screen showing a ‘C’ and ‘0000’ appears. Im assuming this is a code screen. When press + or - on this screen, the numbers on the ‘0000’ go up or down.. and when i press the power button it goes to the next 0.

I can see on old (2 years+ ago) forums on reddit people are having somewhat same issues with their s866. But their code screen looks very different.
Their screen only has ‘- - - -‘
But mine has a huge ‘C’ along with ‘0000’.
They mentioned many codes, i tried them all but nothing happens. They say to press the + button for 10 seconds after each of the possible codes mentioned but all that does is turn my front lights on :/

Is my s866 a somewhat updated version? That needs an updated code? I cant find the code in the bikes user manual or any research…

I need to get into the P settings to adjust my assist levels :(

Many brand name systems are locked from the manufacturer to prevent users from changing any settings, both for legal reasons so they can be sold to specific localities and meet regulations, and to minimize potential problems from incorrect settings causing them to have to do warranty repairs, etc.

So the code is probably specific to that model of that year of that bike brand, though it could be just brand-specific. You could try asking the bike manufacturer (or seller) but it's not very likely they'll help, as they are the ones that would've put that code in to keep settings from being changed. ;)

If you can't get the code for that bike you may have to change the display (and probably controller) for a new one that doesnt' have a lock code. That may also require changing connectors or wiring on the bike to match, and it may also change available features.
