408 motor was getting a bit hard to turn, opened it up, found electrolysis had gone haywire in motor. Had used motor in rain and also on beach seems salt water had got inside ( probably when wheeling bike up a salt water creek).
Very suprised at the results of electroylsis, surprisingly motor was still running, have managed to clean it all up and working fine.
Seems many different metals in these motors and salt water will cause severe/rapid corrosion. Probably 4 to 6 weeks since bike was taken on beach ( only did once ). Bearings were fine, hall sensors all working but very hard to get off the deposits on magnets and rotor. Have put silicone spray in motor and will silicone up the cover plates and where wires exit motor ( plastic parts)
