Sources for positive yet truthful news?

Just so you know. I got tired of looking for positive yet truthful news and decided to start my own. It's called regenerative times, and the information's source is clinical trials, research papers, and other official sources of data.

It's core topic is natural health and regenerative medicine.

In audience testing on reddit, i have received a lot of negative feedback at the idea, especially when posting say, a positive article about HIV getting closer to a cure in a HIV group ( i was accused of 'othering' and 'retraumatizing' people by bringing it up.

Despite this i have decided to still cut through the negativity and continue. If all the other news outlets can survive and publish garbage all day, it is at least worth a try to counter that. I do not want to live in a world where the hucksters run the news.

When in 2003 little George W. started his war on Iraq, Arianna Huffington in frustration with the conservative and deceitful corporate media decided to, in 2005, start the Huffington Post as a counter weight to the Drudge Report. Many of her friends and advisors told her not to waist her money or time. It's popularity and value speaks for itself.

Forward!

I was not aware of that. Thanks a bunch for that inspiration :thumb: :thumb: . I also feel similarly driven due to the horrific experiences me, my family, and others have had with modern medicine. I have relented on starting the site for over a year because i knew it would be a real commitment of time. Nobody else covers this stuff very well though, so somebody has to do it.

Sounds like the whole of America is rife with the kind of socialism all the right-whingers depend upon.

Nope. If it existed in society before socialism, without socialism, the socialists are lying when they try to take credit. Besides, who are you saying they killed to get it?

Traumatized by positive truth? Oh, wait, I encountered a lot of that in this snowflake era. Always love the 'Othering' comment.

If you want a laugh, watch what happened when i posted some recent clinical research benefiting HIV/Aids patients, but 'used the wrong words' in the title.

https://www.reddit.com/r/hivaids/comments/bh08ox/some_hope_for_you_folks_hiv_cells_successfully/

I was civil and polite and got downvoted to hell. Eventually a voice of reason stepped in.
Most people upvoted the post. It is in the top 5% most popular posts. But few had the balls to step in and tell the SJW crybabies they were full of shit.

I realized a lot of subs on reddit are toxic garbage dumps after a few instances of this happening. Someone finds a little thing to nitpick and the crybabies get loud. They forget, entirely, that someone had stopped by to bring them good news.

In fact, i did a test on reddit the other day with these 'disease oriented support groups'. I posted a personal testimony about how my lifelong depression was just a b12 deficiency caused by a gene mutation to /r/depression and it got deleted instantly. I asked why and they said they have a 'no advocacy rule' and that the 'sub is for moping only'. A post to /r/fibromyalgia about what helped my mother with the disease ( dietary modification ), along with a recent research paper supporting the idea.. got downvoted to hell and one crybaby accused me of shaming their dietary choices.

That was the final straw in me deciding that posting positive news to these subs full of people suffering of diseases that will be cured in the near future is not a good idea.

It does kind of hurt my soul to see this but you cannot force a horse to drink water and all that. I will just continue to build an oasis anyway.

I guess the early upset was taken down, I don't get it. So was it the 'You folks' some outlander was screaming about? I've never understood, but I've seen it. And 'People' can be another hot button word. Bernie Sanders used the'P' word at the Democratic convention and see the reaction.

I just remind that positive isn't really so important as TRUE. This story reminds me of my first high school, the oh so violent Don Bosco Technical Institute. Uneducated teachers with of course no training, long school days, much homework. What's the point of more than 4 years worth of classes I'm 2.5 years if we don't learn anything. I was in track #1 sophmore-junior years even though I wasn't doing so well because no one was doing well. A guy from my carpool later went to prison for murder after a road rage incident, much of the school went bad. Anything I said about the environment got my mother, the school, etc. going about I was so "Negative.' https://www.cnn.com/2019/05/09/us/colorado-shooting-stem-school-concerned-parent-invs/index.html

All the whinging about 'Negative' is just control freaks thinking they have Maxwell's Silver Hammer' to bring down on our heads. Another way to suppress the truth.

What is interesting is that the SJW faction has decided that the word 'folks' is a suggested term for addressing a large number of people regardless of gender. They/them and folks/folk are suggested terms.

I do believe these people are just generally miserable misanthropes and there is no satisfying them. Play by their rules and they change the rules. There are now 123,493,392 genders and climbing. The only winning move is not to play. I just made sure to not say i was sorry.

That CNN news article about the second columbine shooting event really resonated with me. It is the same exact set of conditions you find in every school that gets shot up. Throw a few kids into that social thunderdome which already have plenty of trouble with home life and that pressure cooker is now a pressure cooker bomb.

And of course the media will gobble it up and paint the town red with fear.

What we need is not fear; we need compassion. We need to start thinking about the mental health in these environments. The common denominator in every mass killing is poor mental health, and some individual breaking under that pressure.

Where's the news reports talking about how we can stop these things? probably on some random blog nobody reads. Fear sells. Fear is big business.

Who's the butthurt one now?

I love the irony of adult white men becoming fussy little bitches when others don't conform to their expectations. Your expectations were always the right ones, I guess?

Granted, my sister is never going to get me to call her "they". But she's as entitled to her own trip as I am to mine. I do call her by her new name because it functions normally in the language I speak.

I am not really butthurt, i'm just amazed that playing SJW sensitivity shell games on reddit takes precedence over curing chronic illnesses that kill hundreds of thousands of people a year. I find it rather depressing for humanity that some people view the world through that lens.

It is like being screamed at by an insane homeless person on the street. It would be silly to take offense. But it is just sad to see.

The worst part was the depression sub which disallows anything positive from being posted. I am sympathetic to depressed people because i spent half my life thinking about killing myself. I found an answer to my problems which was all due to a genetic mutation and wanted to share it, but the moderators forbid that kind of speech.

What point do you decide a community is a cesspool and walk away? I'm not offended, i'm just sad that it is the way is.
There is no shortage of negative and toxic people on the internet.

Careful, he's going to get butthurt that you're not butthurt when he was trying to butthurt you.

Oh boy, now there's going to be MORE butthurt that you're so condescending. One thing they'll be butthurt over is that you're stealing my bit. As far as I'm concerned, have fun with it. (Just don't think you'll ever do it as well as I do.)

I have no problems calling people what they want to be called. If you do, no worries; the Internet is the place to complain.

He didn't say he had a problem calling them what they wanted to be called. He was mentioning what a sad thing it is that he didn't call them anything and they ripped at him for using a perfectly acceptable generic phrasing about no one in particular. And he's right, terribly sad sack personalities to carry on that way. And also to, you know. . . .

At least they can use the woman's real name in the report. What would have happened in years gone by?

We have a media group here in Australia called Crikey!
It's very good with in depth analysis of the context around a problem, and sources reporting from all over the world. It's probably best described as being left of centre, if you had to define it that way, but it's also quite critical of naive socialist-types and the like.

Yeah, reddit has its problems. Too many sheltered millenials raised with the unrealistic 'safe space' bs. But, at least there is something on there to this effect:

Guaranteed an endless supply!

So I'm at a relatives house watching their Roku news channels. This is my first time, can't form such a solid opinion so quickly.

But I just gotsta love this 'John Tabacco's Liquid Lunch' that's been on Newsmax. It's like an 'SNL' sketch, remember "Da bears" as you watch. But they are talking about the news and when one mentions average family income up nearly 10% under Trump another reminds they have to talk about ALL the news, not just rip on the people YOU don't like. They had the man in the street talking about what they do or don't like about the impeachment, then explained what was wrong with all the bias they were expressing towards things the impeachment wasn't about. That ended and another Newsmax show started, hard hitting guest Dennis Kneale pushing for real hard answers from the host, at least figuratively, but still sticking to facts and not emotionalism. Then they hada panel with the BALANCED discussion that CNN has forgotten. I have a feeling its similar to CNN from before they became so left-wing.

Cheddar I expected to be 'Weekend Update,' with a name like that. Actually it's straightforward newscasts so far.

Then there's Newsy, not only less left than CNN but left embarrassed about it. They also actually make some allowance that not everything the not left says is so wrong.

Not to trash 'Now This,' I just don't think it's what you're looking for. TYT (The Young Turks) is pushing left wing candidates and causes, more negativity, less truth. Not real news, worse than CNN. I'm just waiting for them to pop Big Brother up on the screen.

I'm not sure, but there's commercials and the Roku came with the TV, I'm not sure it requires a subscription for these because it says it's free, when the relative gets home I can ask.

I like to get my information off topic.

Thank you very much gentlemen.
A great amount of information here.
Think about it. You are talking their advice on building something that you could die on, there has to be a level of trust.
Uplifting is the fact that people are concerned about coming up with some idea of the truth, always a noble pursuit.
The examples of a member's posts on other subjects you agree with but don't agree with that said in another. One has to have some respect for divergent views.

You know party people, "frockers" is a gender-neutral term :D

Not dredge something back, but has anyone else noticed how everyone's a victim now? Like, nobody can actually blame *Themselves* anymore for a failure? I honestly think one of the many awful things our media does is give people an excuse for seemingly everything now.

I gotta be careful with reddit, and I'm happy I have never had an account. The hivemind is real there, and even the butthurt leveled at small subreddits (like the golden r/Politicalcompassmemes or even r/Prequelmemes for some reason) for disagreeing with the whole has been legendary. They act the same as any of the closed super-republican groups on facebook they mock and if you want a good time, make a troll account and post that on r/politics for instant replies.
