Hi all...
where do you recommend putting temperature sense wire on lipo packs? Plan on building 24s pack with hobby king lipos. There are 4 temp. wires coming from the bluetooth bms that I ordered.
Do you just stick them on the outside of the brick? Or terminals?
Thanks!

I dont' have a specific answer, but this has been discussed many times before, so there's a number of posts with good info buried in these searches. Mostly the thread titles will help you find the right ones.

I'm sure there's others that don't come up in those.

Yes i did search..a lot of bms posts pop up but i dont see where people are placing the temp. sensors on the battery cells and/or pack?

Obviously they could be used to halt operations based on overtemp of any system component

place where you like, test for the hot spots with an infrared.

For battery packs it's the same, do a high discharge test, see where the internally generated heat starts escaping first.

Usually near the positive terminals.

Yeah i was thinking to install them to cut power if the batteries got too hot.
Regarding IR guns..does it matter how far away you take the reading from? Would a foot away read oit the same as 3 feet away?
Gonna have to order one
