Throttle cable too short

Hello, I am starting the install of an Ebikeling DD kit tomorrow and have discovered that the throttle cable is too short. It is a standard looking 3 wire waterproof style cable. The supplier recommended an extension cable but “yelp” it’s not long enough. I’d like to splice in a length of wire by soldering and shrink wrapping the splice locations. Will that change any of the electrics thereby creating functionality issues?

No, that's fine. The only caveat is that you not create the potential for internal shorts by leaving pointy bits on your splices.
