Has anyone here made a scale experiment of an evacuated tube with an electric vehicle? It would be pretty badass to get some PEX tubing and put a toy car inside of it.

A circular track.

Yay debunking the hype! Go model railroad dudes!

I have some career experience with low torr capsules, but it's been a while. Like, I stepped off in 2000.

What is a Low Torr Capule?
Torr is a unit of measurement for partial vacuum/very low atmospheric pressure. Thermoses, bell jars, incandescent light bulbs, etc. Vacuum is key for both the Hyperloop concept and for the flywheel based energy storage machines I worked to develop.

If you ever wanted to start a separate thread to discuss FESS, I would be so interested in that

The hyperloop is a technology meant to be competitive with helicopter travel and is marketed as a product that will be available to the ultra rich in coastal regions. Rural hospitals go bankrupt because uninsured poor people who use those hospitals have medical emergencies and require med flights to the big city. I thought a good tube would go between Keokuk, IA and Davenport, IA. A rural hospital in Keokuk has only emergency services and is otherwise shuttered. It would also be nice for medical professionals who might like to move to the country. Patients can ride up a tube that runs from Keokuk along the Mississippi River to Davenport, and nurses and doctors can ride back down the tube to their homes where they speculate on the Main Street commercial real estate.
