TSDZ2B 250W 36V // Don't want to screw up OSF configuration

Hi everybody, I just mounted my very first TSDZ2B on my vintage 1975 Motobecane bike.

The bike rides like a charm despite its old age. I dont plan on going faster than 25kph on street mode and sometimes 30kph on off-road mode.

I'm pretty happy with the stock firmware but I'm planning on switching the display to an SW102, so i must flash the motor with OSF (as well as the SW102).

I could use the default OSF config but I would like to exploit the optimal capabilities of my setup by tweaking the parameters via emmebrusa JavaConfigurator.

My motor is a TSDZ2B 36V 250W and the battery is a 36V 7Ah.

How sensitive are the parameters in red?

Can you confirm the first 4 parameters in motor settings and in battery settings are correct?
- motor type : 36V
- motor power max : 500W or 250W (i am not sure)
- motor acceleration : 35
- motor deceleration : 35

- battery current max : 16A
- battery capacity : 252Wh (7x36V)
- battery cells number : 10
- battery voltage cut off : 29

Also, display type, it doesnt have the SW102 but if i set it up to 850C (bafang display), it should be compatible?

Also, if you have any recommendation, i'd be glad to read them!

Looks like a VLDC5 on your bike, why not start with the regular OSF first? One less variable to worry about and you can prove in your setup, and see what happens when you adjust those parameters. The Java manual describes those values, by the way.

Yes I have the stock VLCD5 which is way too big for me.
But, you are right, i will start with flashing regular OSF and see how things goes.

For the tweaking part, I read the Java manual but i am unsure about the Motor power max setting.
I know my battery can withstand up to 560W, but then i am not sure to understand if i should put 250W (my motor max power) or if i can go further since the motor itself is theoretically able to deliver more power.
Safest way would be to put 250W but i do not want to throttle down my system because of this.

What do you think?
 
I'm not into high power and in no danger of overhearing, I started with his known good settings for 48V, kept the current the same and increased the assist levels for Eco/Tour by 50%, the next two levels by 20%, He says 260 for turbo is conservative, His is at 500.. I use 300.

I basically adjusted mine to have the feel on the pedals in Eco that I do on my hub motor cadence sensor bikes at 20 km/hour. That's about 80-100 watts, The T/S kicks in on hills and makes my bike very comfortable.

When I first installed the TSDZ2, top speed on throttle only was 18 mph in high hear. I checked it the other day, and it was 22 mph. Better tires though. I switched to Panaracer Pasela 27x1.25" and inflated them to 80-85 PSI. I can ride those on level ground all day w/o power. I use a 26 cell 48V7AH battery.

I have tried to run my 48V motor on 36V, and didn't like it, but I see that I didn't set motor acceleration right. I used 35 and mbrusa says 45.

Okay so I flashed my TSDZ2B along with my SW102 with firmware v20.1C.5. It actually works like a charm.
I didnt use the Java configurator as everything can be set up via the SW102 screen.
I set my 250W motor to 500W, tweaked up some settings, especially for startup boost, it is so smooth.
This firmware is awesome
