maingot, it is one wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiide rim. Is this 24"X4,25 from chopperUs? how wide is the tyre in mm on widest spot?

Hiya Hal it is a 4.25in wide but its not a 24 buddy its a 20in I will fit the tires tomorrow and measure the width for you mate
i have a pair of these rims and tires (used on trike) they are double walled alloy jobs hard to get hold of these days too...

KiM

EDIT: Hal..check this pic to see the size in comparison to a 24in rim with a MAXXIS Hookworm 2.95in? i think?

I think you better quit while you're ahead :p No more photoshops, the next pic you post better be your bike back together with the rear wheel on and everything bolted up!

We know you're gay for Hyena AJ, but that last was disturbing....

ACK!
I don't know if having my head on that makes it more or less unacceptable to open at work!
These photos were taken without my permission, I'm going to sell my story to the media for a fortune!

He even painted his bike the same colour as one of mine :p

HAHA i copied you ...hrmz...me thinks you went out and got the frame re-sprayed after you saw mine

OK..i think Mr Recumpence SiR might get a kick out of the next 'update' hehe

Seeing i am not using the Sturmey Archer 3 Speed this time round i need
to fit the ENO to the pulley somehow, of course if i mount it
either side it doesn't quite line up properley, initially i was going to
screw the eno on the hub ~3/4 of the way and mount the pulley on the
reverse side of the ENO, i never really took to this idea from the start
but there wasn't any other option...or was there-->

ENO_rear_pulley_fitting_series_pic1.jpg

My trusty never before used bought for my DIY CNC project Ozito 40 buck router
i bunged in a air die grinder bit wrapped the eno with some tape till it
fit snug in the center hole of the pulley marked him out
took a toke of the good stuff and let her rip! I is mull/alk-e-b-hole
power milling machine hehehe...I will now notch the eno
out and use the same holes the 3 speed sprocket used to fasten
the eno to the pulley make a cover plate and call it DONE...Problem solved...
::fingers crossed:: i think everything else now is a matter of straight forward assembly
was just the seat, extended shaft in reduction drive and the pulley/eno issues
that need attention...

Australian F1 GP this weekend so things will progress slowly next few days

Backs soonz though gents

Cheers Luke :)

Couple of the lads dropped by last night as we sat in the workshop i decided i would notch the ENO
and pop the stainless steel button head cap screws in, this pulley really has come along way
since it hung on the wall at Bills Machinery-->

ENO_rear_pulley_fitting_series_pic2.jpg

It is very well centred spinning it up to the naked eye i see no sideways or up and down movement
we is good to GO GO GO :)

Got up at 2am this morning (3am now) couldn't sleep so i'll prolly nap today sometime but be back with
some form of progress for you all :)

KiM

legend Kim............... no one would pick the origin of that pulley

I can only sit and watch all of these builds/rebuilds comeing along, waiting on Mr recumpence and his magic machine shop(and astros) man he must work some hours....I might be joining you over in WA soon, I got a phone interview next week for some work up in Newman.

what is your expectations of top speed with single speed setup, or is it the same as top gear on the sturmy 1:1?

Good luck with that mate NewMan IMO is one of the nicer looking North West mining towns used
to call through there when i was working for Truckline back in late 1980s

On paper yes it should be the same as it was in 2nd gear which was 1:1 as you state however Matt.P saw a few kilometre
increase when going from the Sturmey to the ENO setup so hopefully i'll get the same, current
top speed is ~55km/hr on the flat which is hella quick enough but of course will be significantly increased when voltage
is upped to 66v from 44v can't have Hyena going faster on his frock setup now can we hopefully
touch 80km/hr when voltage is increased if not 88v here we come haha
Acceleration though is what i am after it is more fun that going fast, even having
to take it easy with the crunching sturmey archer acceleration was fantastic.

KiM

That ENO looks good in that pulley Mr. Clean

ahh...too much fun...

Hi AJ,

Great Job, very innovative :)
One more way how to used a router

Cheer's

Zenon

hehehe 12p3phPMDC very good mate, but i am more BEEFCAKE than
that

I have a few more prurty pics, i polished and assembled the belt tensioner
and got the rear tire on the rim and installed the belt to see how
she lined up...in a word..peeeerfect :) VERY pleased with the new
hub & ENO combination it is 100% better than the 3 speed Sturmey Archer

Reduction_drive_mounting_series_pic3.jpg

^^thats a REAL M.E.N.S drive line Hyena

The hub has the addition of one washer and one nut on either side of the axle on the inner side
of the drop-out, the hub/wheel slides in with a couple of millimetres to spare it
couldn't have worked out better i don't think! Some with a keen eye might also notice the new forward position of the motor
has succeeded in increasing belt clearance from the motor to :)

Hal..the rear tyre is 4.13in across when on the rim :)

Back soon with more...

KiM

Looking good it is Kim. Going to catch allot of glances from all who see it. Way nice finishing touches with the powder coat, love the blue, chrome, and rear eno!

Yeah not too bad I suppose :p

Any plans to do anything with the axle bolts holding the rear wheel on ? I think that's the only part on the bike that doesn't look custom now!

dbaker said:
Beautiful job, Kim! What rear tire are you using?

Dave

20x4.25in from ChoppersUS :)

dbaker said:
Is that motor going to get Halls inside or outside? :?

Dave

Going to try both hopefully though inside will be the final setup looks better IMHO than having the external mounting.
