I don't see why the sensorless version wouldn't work the same. It lacks the confidence inspiring feel of the throttle on a gasser, but I'm sure electrics will become more refined in that regard. I wonder how the throttle feels on those multi-thousand dollar ebikes. I bet they miss the mark widely too.

On the little race weight bike I built, I can report that the throttle regen saved me from ending up on my back multiple times. I did make a half-a$$ed effort for a few minutes to ride a wheelie, but never came close. I think a current control throttle would help.

I see this video is with a different camera, as it has zoom.
I can't find any sign of anyone using them here, be interested to see how they look.
 
I found it was fairly easy and cheap to add a rear supension-arm to a hard-tail.

If you wanted to keep the bike fairly short, you can find a rear sus arm for a 20" wheel, and of course there are the more common 24" and 26".

It would make the bike longer and less wheelie-prone, plus adding rear suspension. If you decided you liked it better the old way, its easy to return the frame to stock.

A full suspension frame for $50.. what you get is a short kids bike that wheelies easily. It's not as big a problem as being broke from spending $500 for a big FS frame though! I'm with you, I'd rather go for the $50 frame and have a blast. 8)
