Wiring code for Daum/Kalkhoff hall sensors?

Hi everyone. Just joined, and looking for a bit of advice
I'm trying to use a motor from a failed Kalkhoff impulse / Daum crank drive unit. The phases seem to be OK, and the motor twitches nicely when connected to a cheap chinese controller, but it won't turn without the sensors wired up.
There are 6 wires to the hall sensor board, and unfortunately I don't know which is which. The controller is potted in the drive casing, so there's no chance of tracing the wires there.
I've had a few goes at randomly connecting them up, but I cant detect any signal when waving a magnet over the sensors.
Does anyone have any ideas about identifying the wires?
I'll try to attach a couple of pics. Thanks in advance.
Huw

If there's no signal when moving a magnet over the sensors, and you're sure you have the right wires for power and ground, and the right voltage, and you have a pullup resistor to power on each of the signal wires (see the http://ebikes.ca Troubleshooting section), then the reason it failed might've been the sensors themselves.

If the controller you're using doesn't have a sensorless mode, and doesn't have a self-learn mode, then after fixing the sensors and making sure they function correctly, you'll want to look up the thread and/or wiki article on HOw to Determine the Wiring for a Brushless Motor (might not be exact title, but it'll be close to that).
