Wiring S866 error 10

I’m trying to connect my new controller to my s866
on the side of the screen i have positive,vcc,ground,tx,rx
On the controller side I have positive,ground,rx,tx,k(controller power cord)
I connected positive to positive , rx to tx , tx to rx, ground to ground, but I have no place to connect K(controller power cord).
Display goes on with error e10 does anyone know how to fix that issue

you’re probably out of luck, if you didn’t buy the controller and display as a set. Most displays are only compatible with one controller manufacturer and often by model. The S866 is sort of unique since it works with DC Moto controllers as well as XLD Brainpower controllers. However, the displays use different firmware and sometimes connections, so they aren’t compatible or interchangeable between the two brands or models. If you can’t even match up conductors, then you have a low chance of success.

But the display goes on and shows the voltage I just can’t figured out where to connect the controller power cord I thought that’s the reason of that error 10

Virtually any display will turn on with vcc and gnd applied to it. That doesn’t mean the controller and display can talk to each other. You are a human, but that doesn’t mean you can understand Chinese or Swahili. E10.
Can you contact the controller seller and see if they sell a compatible display?

I already did I’m waiting for an answer but if it doesn’t communicate it wil not show the voltage I guess

Hi RonnyH,

As far as the wiring is concerned, I thought the linked thread information was pretty straight forward to connect to your controller designations.

Display wiring.

With the RED wire being positive battery power always available with battery connected and “on”.

But with the display bypassed, I would first suggest testing for 5vdc controller regulated power that should be present at say the throttle or PAS connectors. This would indicate that the electronics are energized from the BLUE wire controller power line.

That's not VCC coming out of the S866, It's an output that switches to battery power when the display powers up, When the controller sees the battery voltage on what you call the "k" lead, it powers up. Until you do that, you have a controller that is OFF, and an S866 sending data on its TX line and not seeing any response on RX. Error 10. If you don't believe, test it. Put battery/ground on the S866. Watch it power up stand alone. See if battery power appears on your "vcc" lead.

I suggest connecting the 5th wire on the S866 plug to that "K" input. The controller will power up.

With the controller powered up, you will probably have a working throttle and pedal assist, but you may still get an Error 10. If you do, that means the controller powered up with a throttle and default PAS. Many do. However, it is not listening to any S866 commands because they have the wrong protocol. Error 10, Then the S866 is the wrong one for your controller.
