Wolong Electric Outboard battery

I bought an Electric Wolong outboard and the first battery supplied did not work. We got another battery under warranty and it has worked well. The supplier did not want the battery returned and I am considering opening it up to see if there is some simple fault ie a connection and the battery can then have a use. I have worked with lithium ebike batteries and I am prepared to see if it can be salvaged. Being an outboard the unit is sealed to prevent salt water corrosion. Has anyone attempted to open up this type of battery. Any advice is appreciated

That's a pretty big battery.
If it's waterproof, then the case was likely glued or ultrasonically welded. I don't see any screws.
You will probably need to cut the plastic along the seam with something that won't damage the stuff inside.
I've used a dremel grinder with a small cutoff wheel on something like that. You might also be able to use a hacksaw blade and just not let the blade go too deep. If you cut through about 80% of the thickness, you can use a screwdriver to pry it apart and crack the rest.

Before that, you might try charging through the discharge port. Not sure if that battery has separate charge/discharge ports. Sometimes you can reset a BMS by breifly charging through the discharge port.

Also, check under the sticker/labels. Sometimes case screws are hidden there.
