Y-pedal's two stage RC drive..........

OK, so is it that black rectangular surface mount resistor thing between two large pads, has 025 or something written on it? (hang on, isn't a dime round?)
yeh its r00025 meaning you set your car on the hi range mode and set it to 2500 but I had to set mine to 3100 to calibrate it.

Edit: I seen the one on ebay but I thought you guys were thinking they were to big?

I think they are but i am unable to find anything else when i put in 'shunt' in google all i get are these
large offerings i have no idea what else too look for i have no idesa what the original 200amp cycle analyst shunt looks like there is no picture on their website...So if i want theirs i would have too buy from them i was hoping to find something at leasst within Australia but all i have found are ones like the YPedal Man is using, this is all the specialist electronics shop i went too yesterday carry andf they are like 40 bucks for 200amp shunt  19 dollars from Cycle Analyst ...if you can link me to a picture of a smaller version (not covered in solder) so i can see what im looking for perhaps i can find one local? The one on my Drain Brain is half the size of a matchbox but only 30amp... i saw one yesterday at JayCar that was 30amp and it was quadruple the size big metal bars etc... I could have used it for a fishing sinker

Cheers

It is someware in this thread. http://www.endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=10312&hilit=.250mOhms+shunt&start=435

but honestly methods will respond very fast and he is here as a hobbyst not to make money. He justs wants to get everybody riding! So I would send him a pm.

arrrgh... i wired it all up, and then went to program the advanced settings on the CA.. only to realize i used a DrainBrain !!! ( early version. ) Doh..

Edit : Aha !! http://www.ebikes.ca/drainbrain/DrainBrain_Manual.pdf Looks like i can adjust Kp value !.. this may work after all ! :D

You need the shunt we use in our 18fet methods controlers.

It looks like you only beefed up 1 of the three neg buss traces. Is this a work in progress or do most people not beef up trace 2 and 3?

I don't see how I could beef up the other 2 traces there is no room in between the phase trace and the positive trace! And it was a work in progress at that point 3 fets were removed.

My 100 and 200 amp shunts arrived today !

I will use the 200 amp.. Took the bike for a ride today in daylight, the 1:1 ratio on the chainring stage helped greatly, but i am now certain it still needs more reduction.

May have to go dual motor on this thing.....

As far as i can tell this is your ONLY option YPedal man, changing sprockets is
definitely sooo yesterday, throwing more power at it, THATS the ticket ... HAHAHA

best of luck mate..

p.s anymore videos planned?

There is only so much you can expect from one tiny motor heh heh... optimized to the max this single 3210 will do good but i can already tell it won't quite live up to the wheelie machine i demand it become.

Oh i agree entirely YPedal Man!! 50mph is just too slow isn't it!@#?!?!#!?$ and the front only skipping across the road under hard acceleration simply wont do, that front must be OFF the ground and that screeching rear tire that is ever threatening to break traction, weeeeell that has to have smoke pouring off it obviously 8) ....What has Recumpence created here
WHAT HAS HE DONE TO USSSSS....its like a freakin drug neeed mooooore pooooower LoL

I'm guessing the addition of a second motor would only be a matter of Matt supplying dual motor addition for the drive you use now? Simple 'bolt on' scenario...I also wish too do the dual motor in future and i had a question regarding the Mr Fechter throttle interface, will this be sufficient to power 2 HV110 ESC using the single Magura throttle input? Or will i be needing to modify the interface someway OR buy an additional unit so the ESC's have independent interfaces? I thought i saw a build using dual motors with one throttle connected too two servo testers ?

KiM

Hmm.. good question regarding the throttle box.. i do have a 2nd Fechter box ( 200 amp version ) but i'd want only 1 throttle.....

Indeed, there are right and wrong ways to build powerfull ebikes, if certain parts of the system are overstressed failures are to be expected, i like to overbuild and aim for the bombproof side of things when ever possible. :D

Matt got a 200 amp version of Richard's interface to run 2 esc's. I bet your existing unit can be modified.

A question, maybe for Matt.

In this case (needs more reduction) would a single 3220 make more sense than dual 3210's, because the kv is half for the same number of turns?

Sweet thats good too hear, i venture there is very little difference in the 100amp and 200amp hopefully there is no
modifcation needed to make them work, shall PM Mr Fechter when time comes if the question remains un-answered to then

MitchJ sssssshhh one motor is NEVER better than two regardless if its more efficient or not 2 motor's iz a bad ass look it nullifies any efficiency numbers LoL :p

Yeah, I thought I'd really borked up my CrazyBike2 when I put the new motor on it a few days ago, but I got lucky and all I did was destroy a couple of the sprockets on the rear cassette, partly because the chain was old and worn so it skipped (but only because of the super-torque-ing it was getting from the new motor!)

I'm probably imagining it, but I think I hear the frame creak when I hit the throttle hard.

Wouldn't surprise me buddy, but which fame you think is creaking? front back or middle one? LoL

When I'm not on the bike I know it's my own. :) Otherwise I think it's all of the above!

Someday I hope to build a frame from scratch to rival yours; I think it'll be a while, though!

A mother took her boy to Ghandhi and complained "my son eats too much sugar".

Ghandhi said 'bring your son back in 3 days".

When they returned Ghandhi told the boy "don't eat sugar!"

The mother asked Ghandhi why she needed to 3 days return in 3 days. "Why didn't you just say that 3 days ago?"

Ghandhi said "3 days ago I was eating sugar myself!"

So Kim :) you need to start building your own bikes with dual motors :p :) !

You will just have to wait a few months, mounts are made ready for the second motor too be attached :) When i have the first one running trouble free (as YPedal man has) i shall bolt on number two ...when that is running trouble free i have a pozzie for number 3 to be attached also ... in time grasshopper in time :p

So tonight i re-did some of my wiring, installed a resistor inline with a 14g wire on the + side of the throttle box..

the double 10g wires i run from my backpack fill up the 45 amp powerpoles and no room to feed a 14g alongside for the resistor.. so i cut a notch from the jacket of one cable and soldered a 14g pigtail to it..

The 14 cell PSI pack is charging now, i think i'm going to try and get to work on the RC bike tomorrow !!!! :D ( the guys at work will get a kick out of this bike )

Got to work !!! used 3.4ah ( my usual hub motor 48v BMX will use 1.8 !!! )

I hope i make it back tonight tho.. the 2nd stage #25 chain is giving me trouble, not sure if it's a bad bearing or if the chain alignment is the issue, or if the 45t gear if warped but something is grinding/pulsating in there once she warms up... .....

Might be just me having a bad day at work, but the more i ride this bike the more i like my hub motors....... :|

Just be wary of that chainring--if it *is* warped, you could end up like this if you pull enough torque thru it:

Yeah...owie.
