I'm still working on this, but with some CANbus spoofing and torque sensor modding, we're able to increase the torque of gen 2 and gen 3 Bosch mid drives.
As you can see, the max current increases from 14A to 28A. Max speed remains of course. So the bike is still legal.
Normally the battery stops working at around 24A, but we've been able to circumvent that, but only with appropriate cells of course.
Measures needed to be taken to reduce voltage drop over the cables, as this can trigger an error code.
The motor itself seems happy to take it, still not hot to the touch after 35min of driving with the brakes shut, average current of 24A.
We are also able to make the torque sensor more sensitive, for older people or disabled riders.
