12v x 4 = 48v wire diagram ?

Generally ya can check fuses, switches and wiring (connections) first before ya have to start worrying any about the electronics... Got any test equipment? eg cheap DMM (digital multimeter)? If ya connect the batts output directly to the motor (with jumper wires to bypass the controller etc) does the motor spin up OK?

edit: Ya, looks pretty loose :)

when shopping for a speed controller alli can find is 24v 250 watt will that be fine on my 200 watt motor ? or if i plan to go to a 500 watt motor can i buy a 24v 500 watt speed controller ?
Yes to 250W... 500W, not so much. It's all about how efficient the motor is and how fast it can blow off the waste energy (heat.) And how long ya run it before the thing heats up too much and yer burning insulation or de-magnetizing magnets whatever... Ya would not need to be delivering 500W to the motor non-stop. Ya could back off and just pedal-assist or go half throttle (like that is going to happen! )

This charger any good ?

HAHA! Wholly Crap... that thing is freekin' HUGE (16A)! I mean, there is such a thing as TOO big? At this point I don't know what to say. SLA batts are pretty good at delivering amps... and they'll take big inrushes of current up to a point (as they near fully charged... like up to 80%) then ya have to back off. Most batt chemistries are like this. They get more "fragile" around the top and bottom ends of their capacities.

I hope someone more knowledgeable than I will jump in here and advise. *If* that 16A charger "works" OK with a 24Ah pack you'll be charging yer pack from empty in less than two hours... Not very portable but way to go to impress the eGals and intimidate eGuyz when ya whip that thing out...

7A max:

"The charge current for small lead-acid batteries should be set between 10% and 30% of the rated capacity (30% of a 2Ah battery would be 600mA). Larger batteries, such as those used in the automotive industry, are generally charged at lower current ratings. "

This one maybe??
No man... that's rated 10A! Read what TD said (above) - 7A maximum for yer 24Ah-sized pack! And even 7A might be pushing it a bit, at the expense of shorter battery life.

Now yer talking!
"24V 6A Switchmode Dual Stage Acid Battery Charger" sounds about right.

However " This listing has ended."

So is this the right way to charge my bike ?
Yes, except you don't need the two switches? Or are they just plugs?

What if instead of the 24v charger i use my 12v what do i need to change ?
Ya would need to change the wiring such that all four batts are in parallel to give 12V again (or charge each batt separately), plus you will need to change your life `cause it'll take over 24hrs to charge the pack from 20% to 100%

About 5 hours or less I think, from fully dead where you shouldn't go. So 2-3 hours from 50% discharged would be my guess. 6 amps per hour so 4 hours for 24 ah. Most chargers put out less than the rated current though, so perhaps 5.5 actual amps output, so 5 hours to charge.

To use the 12v charger, you can leave everything connected, but attach the charger to one 12v battery pack or the other. The two paralell batteries will charge together, and not charge the other two that are series connected.

Im going to buy these next should fix all my problems.

Ok so i ride home from work today. get home and my new 6amp charger is there so i throw it on charge. 25 mins its all charged. Normally this took me approx 8 hours being not dead flat. so loving this charger,. Then i decided to wire this baby to 48v. Took it for a hoon down the street and i was kinda scared at first. Im a big fella and this 200watt bike at 48 volts is doing easy 55 to 60 kmph took it for a 5k ride with a 5 mins gap half way to pump up tyres.. Motor is loud gets very warm and i think my chain is stretching. but i fuking love this thing....

I was going to say the same thing, I blew up my charger after the charge plug fell apart and hastily poked the wrong wires back in mixing the polarities so now I hafto take batteries out and change wiring to parallel then use my 12v car charger till i get my new 36v
