for mortals like me, what counts is a reliable solution. Nothing more, nothing less.
I think the point is what speed / acceleration you want. And then build a drive that is suited for that. A drive that can satisfy the requirements at 60-70% of its capabilities. To avoid overheating and other problems.
Remember when Lowracer got the 5404 , completely upgraded it, installed aircooling and then said he would run it at 36v as a reliable drive. Everyone was laughing. Maybe it is "underkill" but i think it is good direction.
NO point to overkill drives [unless you do it for "R&D"], better get bigger one to do smaller job..
