Any new ideas on a throttle with drop bars?

Hey guys,

My road bike project has undergone some changes and now looking to properly mount a throttle to the drop bars.

I've googled a ton but haven't found anything yet that looks nice. My current throttle is the thumb throttle but cable tied to the right drop bar.

Has anyone come up with a good way yet of this? Or perhaps a different type of throttle I can buy? A slider perhaps or a simple on / off would probably work for me as I simply use it for a little extra boost.

Thanks.

Grin tech has a little handle bob you can mount one to.

Here's my solution (pictures below), pretty happy so far but in the near future I will put a hall sensor being operated on my front derailleur lever because I use a bafang with a single chainring. My cable goes inside the bar tape.

You can do a button throttle instead.

Kepler came up with the system first, and I based my 3-button design on his original design. He now is working on a latched-button design that looks more advanced.

If you decide to make the 3-button throttle I designed, be sure to follow all the edits and additional posts I added about it as I learned things and made some adjustments as the design developed. Particularly this post about how to calculate the resistor values.

The as mentioned Handle Bob is the best method I have found for a throttle. As I mainly ride in the hood area It falls readily to thumb and in conjunction with a CA3 and it's cruise control setting is the only way I have to control assist on my two gravel bikes. It allows me to set my own cadence and input to match the assist I want at any given time. I can't stand any cadence sensed type of PAS personally although I do like the torque assist on my TSDZ2 mtb but I still have a throttle on it set for high torque/low speed to help in starting off mainly, especially on steep terrain to get enough pedal stroke in to activate the TA.

I have one on the other side to carry the momentary switch I use for regen, once again just in the right spot to be able to activate it and the brifter at the same time. And a bell, every bike needs a bell.
