The inventors say that once attached to the valve of the inner tube, the Arofly measures the tiny variances in air pressure to work out the power being applied by the rider.
So it only works on perfectly smooth roads made of glass. ;)

Otherwise all the other variances in pressure caused by the rough road surfaces are going to overwhelm and mask the data you're actually after.
 
If it has no connection to the drive train there is no way for it to measure the power output accurately. Gear ration is crucial... I can bet that installing strava will give similar results as this thing.
