Hi. I obviously dont need rust protection on this my first project(Or do i?), so i'm searching for the best primer out there when it comes to keeping the future paint on the bike. I have axess to an airbrush machine.

Thanks.

Alodine is the best prep, but may not be easy to find in small quantities.

You can wash with warm vinegar, then rinse in hot water, blow dry and dip or brush a dilute solution of shellac, 3:1 denatured alcohol to shellac. This will make a very similar prep to Alodine, much cheaper,

You need an etching primer. Sometimes called self etching. I use a rattle can from my local autoparts here in the usa. It sprays off green and dries in ten minutes. Its great...been using it fo ten years on aluminum panels.

It is Dupli-Color brand, and I get it from Advance auto. http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/we...ing-primer-12-oz-aerosol-duplicolor_7140110-p Though others in my area have it.
