Hi Guys,

Looking for some idea opinions and advise. I had a crazy idea to modify my 2018 giant glory to fit the bbshd and phaserunner setup but starting to think it will be a dead end. I hacked into the downtube to allow for more clearance from the ground which was achieved. I managed to get 240mm clearance then welded and anchored an 5mm plate to replace the section of downtube which was cut out.
i would like to add some more strength to it, have it be a little more rigid and use the torque are blots on the motor to integrate it all.
i have added pictures to further explain what i am trying to achieve. the blue box i have drawn in the picture is what I'm thinking. was planning to use rivet nuts on the sides of the downtube and bolt the up to hole near the suspension holes
what are you thoughts am i wasting my time and end up face planting the dirt or can anyone suggest a way to make this happen?

Unless you can figure out a way to properly heat treat it, I'd start looking for a new frame. It looks to me like you massively compromised the frame in possibly its most critical area. I wouldn't ride it anymore, I doubt this frame would survive a single good bottom out.
The leverage ratio on that frame is probably almost 3 : 1. So any force pushing up on the rear axle will be multiplied by 3 and applied downwards on that lower shock mount, which also happens to be the main pivot on the front triangle.
