Converting GIO (Luyuan) scooter from SLA to LiFePo4 but not sure about the wiring...

1) What happens during regen? The Ping pack has separate lines for charge and discharge. Can the bike safely backfeed into the discharge line?

2) Any chance I can pick up a speedo signal from the controller instead of using the pickup and magnet of the Cycle Analyst CA-SA v2.25 ?

3) Any way of hooking up the CA-SA so that it gets turned on and off with the ignition switch?

Thanks in advance!

That will be a great upgrade, 48v 20Ah and a Cycle Analyst, you will be all set. I think the regen only accounts for a small amount of recovery, something like 3-5%.

My Gio seems to be holding up but the SLA's are slowly declining, which is why I want to venture into Lithium.

Hopefully you will post some pictures of your project… :)

IAN
