I posted a year ago that I converted my 350 watt 36 volt Bafang geared hub drive to 52 volts last year. A new Lyen controller (don't recall the model but Lyen quizzed me good on my use and I'm sure supplied the right thing) complete with a 6 pin plug, label "for CA". Simple enough, but at the time I ignored it and didn't spring for a CA. I did this conversion to bring the 20" fatbike more into line with my other rides. Trail riding is not the reason, or more torque even, just a bit more speed (it worked) and a better battery at the same voltage as my other bikes, all 52 volts.
The bike rides fine, except for the the throttle response (twist grip, no cadence sensor anymore, I ride it like my other bikes, by pedaling and whatever level of throttle I think I need) needs to be re programmed. It cuts in a bit harshly, and is somewhat hard to ride at low speeds, mid and higher speeds its fine. I am 99% sure that with the CA3-DPS plugged into the LYEN controller, (http://www.ebikes.ca/shop/electric-bicycle-parts/cycle-analysts/ca3-dps.html) I can tweak things and smooth out that throttle response on the lower end, correct?
