Over the past year, we've received a lot of valuable feedback from riders using the DM01 in different environments: commuting, off-road riding, cargo bikes, winter riding, and long-distance touring.
One thing we've consistently seen is that riding style and gearing technique can make a very large difference in both ride feel and long-term drivetrain durability.
Like most high-torque mid-drive systems, the DM01 performs best when the motor is allowed to spin efficiently rather than being heavily loaded at very low RPM.
So we wanted to share a few practical recommendations that can help riders get the smoothest performance, lower operating temperatures, and the longest possible service life from the system.
