48 volt motor,52 volt battery, s866 controller/display(after market pairing for my Schwinn diy ebike.

Loud click from the motor when I twist the throttle. Then nothing. I might have a shitty throttle. After all, those were the parts that barely survived the fire. I'm thinking a whole new throttle/display pairing. I went through the learning period. Not sure what else can i troubleshoot?

I got rid of the E 30 problem. And it had something to do with the last couple of parameters that you calibrate when you're setting it up. Also, it helps has the correct number of magnets.

Now I'm trying to get a throttle to control this current set-up. 48 volt bldc. Puts out around 350 watts, but my throttle im having a b**** of a time hooking up. The learning wires I had running the motor and let it run for 120 sec. Im trying to get this throttle to control the motor but it didn't come with the display. Do I need a new throttle assembly? I'm hooking it up wrong. I'm afraid to short anything out. I'm learning but the curve is short.

Yesnorth,I have all new wiring.,rebuilt the motor, sank a new harness in the axle, new board and hall sensors, new controller and using brand new solderless connectors. I'm going to hook up my sw900 and see if it gets any similar readings. Otherwise a standard voltmeter will help nail down the problem, won't it?
Did you swap out your controller from your earlier thread with a new compatible controller and display?

E30 on many displays is comm error, meaning the display isn't getting a (valid) response from the controller.

That can happen if the display isn't actually sending (valid) data to the controller, or if hte controller isn't sending any, or if a wire is broken between them, or a contact in the connector has a poor enough connection, or if the TX/RX wires in that cable are swapped.

Keep in mind also that there's battery voltage in the same cable and connector as the TX/RX, and damage to those lines can happen if BV gets connected to them accidentally, thru a miswire or a misplug (like if the plug can be partially inserted while rotated so they aren't lined up, enough to touch pins). That damage probably requires replacing the TX/RX buffer(s) if they are separate parts from the MCU in the display and/or the controller. (if the lines go right to the MCU(s), then the MCUs get damaged, and aren't fixable).

Here's my display. Note the communication alert symbol. Cleared the E30 problem. What now? No throttle control. I'm hooking up the old display sw900 that came with the throttle. I will have tandem displays in a few minutes. Does anyone know what this setting is supposed to be? I have a choice between a 1 and a 3. Right now it is at 3.
