Long time scooter rider, first time poster
I've been kick scooting for years now, and have been riding Vespas and Lambrettas for years - but lately have started to strongly consider electric as the way forward.
With this particular scooter, it has my interest. Minimalist, cheap and seems to tick most boxes.
The speed though has me worried - not the top speed (25kph or whatever) is probably OK for most sidewalk commuting, but it's the ability on hills that could be a problem. My daily commute is 10kms each way, with a few reasonable hills that usually require me to walk my scooters up. But on the other hand, if the power of this thing is sufficient to provide an assist to kicking, it might be OK.
Battery size does look woefully small...and with the small battery compartment I reckon that LiPo would be the only way forward - probably not enough room to shove more 18650 cells in there.
Noisy as heck yes, but while riding would that be that much of a concern? The idler looks OK to me - if it's spring steel, that *should* keep tension on the chain nicely for the lifespan of the scooter.
I'm tempted to get one myself - if only the fact that the price (~$600NZD) is significantly cheaper than any other options. Plus, since i'd be on the sidewalk for most/all riding i'm not sure that I would need (or could use) the top speed that the other options (~$1000NZD+) we have available here.
