Greg,

If I was you I'd go a minimum of a 24" with the 4080 or best bet is just go straight to the motorcycle rim. Ship it to Missouri and have the MC rim installed and forget about it. You ride to fast and hard for a bike tire and that was on that wimpy 3540 clyte. Now your stepping up to some real power......

Tom

I agree, I want to change by rear one for an MX, too much power for a bicylce tyre...

anyway, I found that : seems new !

excuse me sir, but you are breaking every f***ing traffic law!!!!

I like the fastlane pass to immediate right turn. lol I am sure the same people see you everyday and shake their heads.

me, I love it, great driving.

couple months in? just some stats so far:
S-9_ev6jK9P2o7uy0EqFQPTkgZZgHpihJ7Y_lypmqSzf=w1000-h590-no

544 miles
91 cycles, but only 35 full cycles - so i wonder what qualifies as a full cycle. i've not drained it 20% 35 times, so i wonder what it considers a full cycle. nice to have some differentiation there tho.

what's BWH? and BAH?

11.66Ah is the capacity, since i've got 2p of 5800mah packs..

interesting to see the internal resistance of the whole pack - that is what 0041 mohms is, right? doesn't seem good compared to the ~4-10mohms per cell i started out with. does this mean i've got one cell at 41mohms that's dragging the whole pack IR down?

ohhh, i think iRe 0041 mohms 0009 min means the pack has 41mohms max IR, and 9mohms min - as in the range the pack has varied..

Hey Greg, I was thinking about the higher speed you're getting and I'm wondering if its similar to how the infineon can be programed to have more than 100% max speed. I remember Hyena was telling you about it on that radio show when he was a guest. I think %120 speed is pretty easily done with the in fine on. How does that compare? Do you remember that episode?

Maybe the "B" in BWH and BAH stand for Bicycle?
For instance, Bicycle Watt Hours you have used this trip: 536 & Bicycle Amp Hours used: 7.02
Or it could mean what is left available :?: Too lazy to do the math as it's friggin' 2am.

I remember everything hyena says. i never forget anything. and my memory is 100% flawless. i remember every car i pass, and at exactly what speed. and if a leaf was falling in my peripheral vision.

just kidding of course. it's possible... but curious too what my top speed's were on this bike w/ other setups, i did a little search and found these posts after going from 20s (12fet 45A controller) to 24s (18fet 45A) in Feb 2013:

So what speeds are you hitting now on 24s? Watts per mile gone up or down? I assume up till you get used to the added power that 100v offers.

this morning @ 24s

starting voltage: 99.9V
starting motor temp 4C
commute time: 12min (door to door)
distance: 5.2mi
max speed: 44mph
max amps: 59.61
min voltage: 85.3
min amps: -16.3
end voltage 91.2V
4.467ah used
421Wh
76.2wh/mi
5.5% regen (-.2486Ah)
end motor temp: 135C
obviously i was happy about the performance of 24s compared to 20s. i can't say whether 44mph was the max possible speed (and the batts were cold), or just my max speed for the ride, but you can see that the max current was comparable. (the miniE has a max of 65A and i see it frequently when hitting WOT.)

i ran 20s for a lonnnnnnnnnnnnng time, and i never thought i'd need more, but after years i got so comfortable with it, that i was really ready to go 100V. 20s had gotten too slow for me. i need to find my top speed at 20s back in the thread, and i'm guessing it was near 44mph, but that would have been down a long downhill stretch. at 20s going uphill, i had to be in the slow lane and got destroyed by cars.

so when i hit 24s, i was psyched to have the additional speed.

and when andrey said i'd go faster @20s with the miniE than @24s on the infineon, i was skeptical to say the least.

but i'm definitely going faster. i'm probably going as fast on this bike at 80v with the miniE than i'd be going at 110V with infineon set to 100%. no data. just my feeling...

something i've not mentioned, is that power seems more graduated with the miniE than infineon, almost as if there are higher gears...

andrey, man, can you help me out here? how the hell does this thing work?

and if you dare, can you tell us if it's more 'efficient'? :p

Mehn. I don't have the balls to ride in traffic like that, am still a noob anyways, maybe someday

nice primer thud. delete it?

feeling better now!

met up with my friend with the quadcopter to have a shoot:

nice vid of the wipe. i got up but after a couple minutes, i asked axel where we were, and why we were there. don't remember much. we rode home, and then i asked him to tell me what happened again. i don't remember ever being so disoriented and confused.

i thought feeling nauseous was a a bad sign, so had my wife drop me at the ER. hand went numb for a while. just worried there was internal bleeding and afraid i wouldn't wake up tomorrow. CT was negative for bleeding. nice concussion though.

F******CK!!!!

Sorry I had to chuckle at first, then realized how hard you hit your head, then read the rest of your post. Like I said, F*ck.

Really glad you are OK.

Great footage btw.

120% setting is easily programmed on the infineons. It's my 3rd speed setting. There's a bit of throttle lag when you use it, but when it hits, it blasts you forward like a rocket. (It's also just an on/off, but I hear 110% has less issues.) I think it even causes the controller to overshoot my max current setting. I was on the highway by accident the other day so I was running full speed for a while. It can be VERY useful. It even allows you to run a slower speed wind for more torque. It brings my Clyte HT on 72v from 37mph up to 43mph or so.

thé fall of the hero...talking to my collegue about your controller, he Saïd it could be just components quality, mainlyrics gets, transistor and condo, if the filtering frequency is higher, the wave signal is cleaner, maybe it s a true sinusoiid curve...I guess if you make the frequency higher and more efficient, you can have more speed...more voltage give more frequency, better quality transistor (Japan one are a lot more expensive) but would allow mote frequency...sorry, but it is my mechanical traduction of the understanding of my Electroniq colleague answer....as for the infineon mod, you maybe push the transistors further than their security limit...

Biker down!
Yea, i un posted the 1st notice....not knowing the full details, i thought you may want a little more disgresion...

After seeing the impact, i can say...a full on moto helmut would have not been any better protection.
Good to see you in action.......glad to see being on camera didnt influance your riding any. :p

Did your brain cloud go away? Its really weird "waking up" while thinking your fully conscience.
I guess every knock on the head is different.

The rest of us slow down as we age.....I like your style better!

Hoping for a speedy recovery and more cool videos!

Glad you're ok. Looks like you hit your head quite hard. Helmet survived?

Awesome footage though! Mute the sound
sorry it took so long to get the vid up. glad i didn't have to remember a password.. things have been a bit foggy...

the helmet:

obviously it helped a LOT, but back has surprisingly little coverage!
20130921_112317.jpg

my full face woulda been much better. that reflector is on a strip of hard plastic that is pretty much where my head hurts.

i'm lying back as much as i can there, so likely the helmet split some, and the strap moved to allow my the plastic strip to contact the ground. still better than skull of course!

my weekend plans are thrown off a bit. i've been telling the kids i'd make the treefort after our WI trip, and they've been nagging me so much i picked up all the lumber this week, and was going to try to get the deck down this weekend. i got home from the hospital last night in time to say goodnight and my son asked, 'are you going to live long enough to build the treehouse?"

electronic music track processing now. might find a better one later - perferably one that gets weird, goes underwater, or something to simulate my brain freeze.

still can't believe i rode home, first the mile back to axel's van, then leading him back to my house. i asked him over and over what happened... and when... and why...

thanks for kind thoughts.

Glad your ok, I've been doing those power slides a lot in the trails this year. Haven't gone down hard yet. Came close one time when I stupidly did it on grass, just exiting one of the trails. Fortunately I reacted quick enough to get my body on the high side and rode it out till the wheels caught. Would of like to have seen it on tape. Couldn't of planned it if it tried. Time for a new helmet Greg!

Crap, that was cement you landed on. Not a good spot to be messing around. Last year I landed hard on blacktop on a bike trail. 95deg going 25mph without a helmet. The only thing that saved me was my ability to roll and how soft the blacktop was because of the heat. If it was cement, I'm pretty sure I would of broken something. I should of had a helmet on.

OMG Greg, that was the worst possible end to such an amazing shoot! It looks so fantastic until the fall. I hope you're OK man!

I recommend one of these in the future! http://www.bernunlimited.com/ When you take that kind of hit it might not matter all that much though, damn. Heal up quick!
