Hi Everybody,
First I owe an apology to PJD. He wrote me that he is interested in some TS cells, and I did not get back to him in a timely fashion - entirely my fault! I will also say I've had a few other people say they are "interested", and then poof, nothing. So it goes.
Second about the 10 Ah, 10+ C rated, green cells from Taiwan - $30/cell. What I heard (3 weeks? ago) is that the factory was swamped, and would not give us a shipdate. I have been out of town, and sent an email tonight. I will follow up with a phone call tomorrow to see if I can get any more data. I think these are killer for ebikes/small scoots. Not quite the power or energy density of the TS cells, but much more flexible and scalable. And 10C! AFAIK, an extra 200 were ordered to accommodate interest expressed by ES members. I do not know if this deal is repeatable.
Third, not affiliated with ElectricMotorsport, though I am still friendly with Todd and totally support what he is doing, and especially what he has done. It was only 18 months ago that his GPR (65 mph / 20 mile) was king of the road (even in feature movies) - a true pioneer.
Forth, not really a seller at all. Just trying to pass some good deals to the folks here. I'd like everyone to REMEMBER that the TS 40 and 90 cells are limited to what we have on hand (few hundred cells) minus what we use - and a Prius Plug-Hybrid conversion uses almost 80 at a whack. I also think we are doing some more bikes with the 28 cell, 90 Ah config. Which is ok, as the interest in the 40s is more common. I will say I have seen only trustworthy behavior from these people. What I'm really saying here is don't put this pricing into your spreadsheets (I'm sure some of you use those) - may not be here tomorrow.
Lastly, though I have issues with some battery vendors, what they are doing is extremely tough. Manufacturers, subcontractors and especially alliances in Asia change faster than the weather. Shit, peoples pets died because somebody inflated food protein levels with melamine to make some extra yuan. In the US, the Wild West is a cultural icon - but now the world has to deal with the Wild East, and there is no icon. It will get better; it may get crazier; it will not follow Moores law like PCs but will get cheaper. Ultimately, hopefully, a 10x increase in power density with minimal (15 min) recharge times. Even at todays prices (errm . ., excuse that 10x part) NOBODY would use gas.
