GT i-drive 2.0 Build

All of these videos are inspiring, it made me do a little editing of ebike footage with the new youtube video editor. Theyll never quite be the quality of yours though...

Look sweet, +1 on "All of these videos are inspiring" and Dang I cant hear the sounds cause I am deaf in RL. :)

Straight ahead jazz... ok, not perfect. have to overwrite existing audio, which is a bit of a downer... but, whatever. virtually the same vid here, folks. nothing new... (audio on all resolutions but 360, i think)

We need to setup a trip to NYC to get some thrash footage...

I love that you commute in your work clothes. I tend to leave my good shoes at work and switch them out for the skateboard shoes when I get in.

It looks ultra James-Bond though. 8)

yeah, that was one of the points, ebike so i don't sweat and don't need to change clothes at work... as for the tie, i just happened to be wearing it on the day i did various mounts of myself, and i thought they'd add perspective sprinkled thru the vid.

as you know, i generally prefer to shoot my prey instead...

oh, man, there are so many things i'd like to do in NYC...

NYC is only 280 miles from my place as I would ride (I'm learning my geography  ) I could easily do that in a day 8)

Sweet compilation vid!

I wear a collar and tie to work too (often with a lab coat over the top :p ) but I put my work clothes on when I get to work now. After a few stacks and near misses I have an increased sense of self preservation so wear body armour for commuting now. I found that even with mud guards you get the occasional bit of stuff flicking up on your clothes. And even from minor casual pedalling my suit pants started to show a faded type wear around the knees. Although it is amusing having your tie flap in the breeze like a dogs tongue out a car window at 40+ mph
And there's nothing finer to wear when blasting past lycras

thanks guys! re nyc, it's not the distance, it's the TIME! i've started wondering what cities i'd like to hit tho. amsterdam comes to mind. would mount the gopro on the rear and outrun coppers there, prior to deportation... venice could be interesting...

oh yeah, back to reality here. this just coming in:

It's a sheet of sleet out there at midnight. Could be a nightmare by morning. Won't get much above freezing during the day tomorrow either.

Great videos btw! Are you using iMovie to edit them?

Hah! Yeah I tend to still wear my khakis with a leather motorcycle jacket. But I have so many pairs of khakis with chain gear marks on them I've given up on that

Good luck on the weather guys.

I'm sure it would be hard to take a weekend off from the kids, but if you could take a train up there somtime it would be a blast...

I'm just tracing the route I could take through the mountains and I can't help but daydreaming about making the trip all the way on the ebike 8)

We should organize a 3-4 day weekend east coast ride. Must be some existing ones that we could go low profile on like Lyen and Kingfish

I was all geared up and ready to hop on my "steed" this morning and looked down at the Hookworm on the front :?: Changed back to studded tire. Just enough snow to cushion the ride :D The front end started sliding when I went up on the north side of the overpass bridge near the reservoir  That plastic decking with ice base and snow frosting was slippery

Thanks! Yep, iMovie. Can do most of the things I want tho. I have to export to MP4 to get full HD and then upload to youtube via brower. The one-click upload to youtube does only max 720. No biggie. I usually wake up sometime in the middle of the night, roll over and click upload, since it takes an hour or so for MP4 export and I want to sleep...

Link? Missed that one... Think of me as a robin flying to and fro work everyday, just to get home to a nest full of chicks chirping for worms... Too busy! <reaches for violin>

IF there were TIME, the Chesapeake and Ohio Canal would be easy for DC folks to get on and roll... Not sure if the campsites have electricity tho!

And yeah, the weather just made for an early am salt bath. I thought about hitting the trail, but didn't have the time, and 2" of snow on top of <no idea how much> ice... well, something told me I'd be walking it out of the park and taking metro for a couple days...

Good call! I went home at 2:30 to get to Sam's basketball game. Trail had been plowed :D Only a little bit of snow/ice on the bridge and through Little Falls Park. Gonna use studs tomorrow for the ice.

I hear ya there! :(
And if you spend too much time tinkering with ebikes when you get home mother robin will drown out the sound of the chirping chicks with a song of her own, and it ain't a happy one. Keep it up and she'll threaten to clip your wings or kick you out of the nest...

Awwww I wanna join with you guys for touring the ebike in east coast! Bummer I am in california :p

Good idea on stealth like KFF and Lyen. Something these kind I have thought about building a RC setup similar recumpence's trike or Yedal's ebike (http://www.ypedal.com/RC/RC.htm). recumpence mentioned RC setup is super efficient low watt/hr with greater distance travel.

Lucky for you most of the ebikers in the world are in CA, I'm sure you could organize an ebike tour:) I would love to get a little east coast ebike meetup. It's pretty hard though. Very sparse group in the east. I could go chill with the Canadians, thats my best bet. I love Canada.

  awwww Greg thats soooo coool 8) 8)

Nice video with 2 trailers :D

I was late getting to work this morning. Made it to my desk a 7:45. Of course there were a lot more people on the trail. I carefully passed a lycra who immediately started shouting at me :( Really shouting loud :!: I was a bit nervous because the bike had been cutting out most of the trip when I hit bumps  This lycra was so mad I don't know if he would have assaulted me :?: I am going to build up a stealth road bike to deal with these guys

That is crazy! What was he shouting about?

The trail has a sign that says, "No motorized vehicles." I've had folks yell at me as well. That was when I was riding my eGo scooter which doesn't have pedals. It's not pleasant. I had my iPod on so just pretended that i couldn't hear them.

My biggest scare was when out of the blue, a motorcycle cop came up behind and passed me. He gave me a slow look as he passed and just kept on going! Whew!

Ambrose

Yeah, and stealth won't help you much if you're passing!

Maybe I'll ride w/ you tomorrow and mount the gopro facing rear.

PS. Just for context: My family ride was gonna be my answer to these posts:
