hi i am having an issue with my daymak em2 i have a aftermarket votol em100 controller on it along with a 84v lithium ion battery and my problem is that everytime i hit a bump in the road i lose all power then when i jiggle the power wires off the battery i get all power back im thinking i have a short somewhere thats causing this but id love to hear your guys opinions

That's typically a loose connection, not a short. A short would probably blow the fuse or start a fire.

If there are specific wires or parts you can move or touch that restore the power, then the problem is probably within those wires or parts or whatever they connect to.

A close visual inspection of all of those things, in direct sunlight, will probably make it obvious where the problem is.

If not, then you may have to start checking wire and connector continuities with a multimeter, while moving those things around to see which one loses continuity when you move it.

in direct sunlight

Huge agreement with the gentleman. It's always amazing what shows itself with a very strong light - it makes life much easier when buying cars, etc. Yes, watch out for the glare...

thanks for your suggestions but i took it all apart today and took a look at the battery wiring as thats what was making it get power again after i would jiggle them but they both seem to be connected tight at both ends i even zip tied the wires to the frame so they couldnt move now all of a sudden i cant get any power im thinking of just getting a new wiring harness for it because the previous owner has bypassed some of the connectors using just crimp connectors its a true hack job so instead of going through every wire im just gonna replace the whole thing back to stock

I would be tempted to just replace in order to be on the road asap, but in case it's of interest...

I would put the new harness down beside the old and start replacing one-by-one and doing continuity checks on each as I replaced it, just as a way to get some experience along the way about what went wrong. Tedious, but an opportunity.

Troubleshooting - Learn
for a walk through testing hall sensors, if they pass check the feed cables for any damage connections are fully home and contain no bad/bent pins/contacts..

its got nothing to do with the hall sensor's on the motor i re installed the votol em50 and it works perfectly now so it has to due with either the em150 controller or the controller wiring
