Liquid tape is not flexible enough for that purpose, not in the weather I am at least.
Liquid tape is best on soldered splice, before sliding on a shrink tube.

This stuff is making dirty sticky connectors, but it does the job very quick and simple. Spray wire exit and connector joint after they are fitted tight.

Thick die-electric grease (non-conductive). It creates other problems (messy, drips when hot), but you could ride through rain with confidence.

Tiny foil packets can be bought for $0.99 at auto parts stores, and heres a random web-link to an overpriced $9 tube:

here's a vid starting at 3:50 he shows gooping the backend of a soldered connector with liquid electrical tape (running an RC model underwater).

This, we use it on the electronics on boats and I use it on my car. I just use plain old Vaseline and cover all open connectors with it(like batterypoles) and fill connectors with it.

EDIT: If you aren't gonna use the connector often you could also cover it with plastidip, i remember covering a motherboard with plastidip when one used LIN, phasechange or TEC's to cool the CPU.

YOU can use a tube of silicone adhesaive , first plug the connectors togather and fill the back side of each connector and after a few hours of drying pull the connectors apart and fill the inside with DIELECTRIC GREESE, that's what I do and never had a problem.
