Jbull controller settings with a computer

Hi I got a client that sent is sending a jbull controller to me and they said it can be hooked to computer and the settings changed they sent me the info to contact the manufacturer and I did they said that it can be to change settings but they can not give me the program or sell me the cable theres not a cable on the controller to plug into but there are pin outs is there a few different programs I could try after it arrives and stuff they said its unlocked but doesn't have a display plug either it dose have port for single wire display that only receives data to the display so im on a stand still and I dont want to not try and build the bike without changing pas settings and makeing shure its where they want it but if I cant I cant ik theres a few programs I could use but what are my best options if I brick it i brick it they understand theres a chance so any ideas?

I have seen in instructions on some of these controllers that you can access a menu by a certain process but they don't tell you how to hook up a display to do it. I do believe these controllers could be as programmable as a vesc controller they use a similar processor chip.

Ya I can solder a set of wires to pin outs inside of it but im not shure what program I need on the computer to do it putting a harness on it is easy iv seen stuff that since its unlocked if I put display wires on it that it would work with certain display but I dont want to by a handful of display to test it even if I use my sniffer to see what protocol it uses dont want to wast the money gambling with the display when I could just dl program and do it in computer
 
I think the reason they don't make it easy is people would be burning up controllers and motors . The amount of preset regen is just enough to not cause problems, and have never had my 50 amp controller get more than warm.

Have you done this before for other controllers? Ignore the below if you already have experience creating the software and hardware interfaces or access the code directly before.

What we refer to as programmable controllers should be call user programmable controllers, since they all have an app/GUI/program made for the end user to change parameters.

e.g. Sabvoton bluetooth app and PC GUI:

That's not what you have, and even if there is a program interface, they're not giving it to you.

My guess is that they program the parameters in by editing the firmware code directly. If you look at any of the OSF threads on ES, you can get an idea of what the code probably looks like, and both the hardware and custom software interfaces that allow ES members to change the parameters and flash the updated OSF firmware.


PS. the single wire "display" connector is just a replication of one of the hall sensor signals. It can be used with a simple/cheap speedo, like on a bicycle, etc.

Ya i can check that out for the code but the single wire showed break on regen on throttle error and gear lvl and controller error some controllers send more data than other but thanx that helps I am honestly trying to find if someone knows what thisone uses so I didnt have to sniff it and sort through code its really hard to find anything for any controller expt like vtol or fardriver and stuff like that i mean it dont cost much extra to put it in code to allow ppl to work on it if they dont supply a display and have pas on the controller i mean come on
 
Probably best to see how the controller performs by default. Even if you can change the PAS assist, riding with PAS could suck anyway. A lot of cheap controllers use speed control rather than torque control, which will make PAS unpleasant at any level of assist, since the controller is trying to achieve a speed, rather than providing a set level assist in addition to your pedaling.

I personally dont like it but i have a 10k pointomeeter ran to controll the throttle output so I can reduce the maximum output on my personal bike but they want me to set the pas lvl higher I use the orange wx bull controller made by the same ppl its pretty good I max out at 35mph but they want it for some reason I told them id look into it there paying for it so might as well
 
I did it i did it i did it im trying to get the last .6% of the lower files then starting on upper took months and slot of work and ruined 2 controllers but I did it i used a esp32 s3 and an andruno mega to do it and currently the way I have to do it it takes awhile for 1 address im waiting on my stm to get here to make it faster but as soon as I get it and decode it ill drop how to do it here

Here's just a bit of it just raw the way im haveing it saved i have to python it back to gather and its inverted lol but of course I get it 1 week before the shinolink tool gets here for me to use it lmao thats my luck if I didnt spend the 130$ and order it i would have never got it
 
Update i have 8 full runs and now im running comparison runs to make shure I get same bit reads on every run the first 4 will take about 8h the next 4 will take about the same will drope an update when those are done and I run my py script to see what I got
 
Newest update am haveing to rewrite code to move to a faster clock microcontroller that can handle the bit grabs at a better speed what i had couldn't get a clean dump everything was shifting every dump its proven firmware dump but was still noisy and not hard codded timed right so after I build the program like it was on the new microcontroller and get back to the point I was ill update
