Hey all,
I have a Bafang BBSHD 1000W kit purchased from Varstrom (Amazon EU) in March 2025. The kit has been absolutely solid, over 9,000 km with zero issues!
Setup:
- Motor: BBSHD 1000W (UART)
- Battery: 52V 20Ah
- Display: EKD01 (HW: B02NU_V1.01, SW: EKD01_BF_V31)
- Original config: Varstrom dual-mode, 25 km/h road-legal + unrestricted mode
- Never modified the controller settings myself
What happened:
I bought a second-hand BBSHD from Marketplace that came with an Eggrider V2. Connected the Eggrider to my primary bike to try it out. Did not realize the Eggrider writes its stored profile directly to the BBSHD controller on connection. It overwrote my original Varstrom configuration.
Symptoms after reconnecting the EKD01:
- Throttle active at PAS 0 (was not before)
- PAS 1 allows 50+ km/h (was limited to 25 km/h in road mode)
- Lost the dual-mode switching entirely
What I need:
The original Varstrom BBSHD 1000W controller configuration file. If anyone bought a BBSHD kit from Varstrom and saved the config using the Bafang Configuration Tool before making changes, I would be very grateful for a copy. Even a close approximation would help.
I have a programming cable and can flash it myself. I have also emailed Varstrom support directly but no reply yet.
Currently trying the Eggrider with a manually configured Road/OffRoad setup as a workaround, but I would prefer to restore the original Varstrom tune and go back to the EKD01.
