KT LCD3 display parameter P1 on Zipper Z6

I have a second hand Zipper Z6 Fat and I have been checking the settings in the KT LCD3 display. After doing some research it seems that parameter P1 should be set to the number of magnets in the motor multiplied by the reduction gear ration in the hub. Mine is set at 99, which seems like an odd number to me. Does anyone know what this should be set to, or even better does anyone know the number of magnets and the reduction ration of this bike. The only markings on the motor hub are SY04B36V250W200671059N. I have searched for this but nothing so far and I have contacted Zipper but no reply.
 
It indicates a 20 magnet motor with a 5:1 gear ratio and adjusted from 100 to 99 for speedometer accuracy.

You can open up the motor and count the number of magnets and the number of teeth on the gears to confirm, but not worth it if it runs well and the speedometer is reasonably accurate.
 
It was just a quick calculation working back from your P1 = 99 setting.

The only way you will know for sure is if the supplier gets back to you or you open the motor and count teeth and magnets.

If you open the motor you may be lucky and find the manufacturers name or motor code on the halls pcb.

You can count magnets without opening the motor by cogging the wheel, but to do that you need to connect two phases together.

Is the bike not functioning properly? P1, P2 and wheel size are used to determine your displayed speed. Is the speed accurate? What are you seeking to accomplish?
 
P1 and the wheel size are used to calculate the displayed speed, but the odometer is apparently based on the wheel size and speed sensor (P2).

I have two bikes with the same motor,LCD3, and controller, but slightly different width tires. As you know, the LCD3 only has a few wheels size diameters. Odometer is off by 8%, Wanting to adjust the odometer readings the same, I lowered P1 on one bike by 8%, but mileage stayed the same.

That brings up the question of which method is used for speed if you have a speed limiter set in the LCD3? It's not important to me so I have not tried to find out.
 
I want to just hop in here for a minute. I have one of these displays: it works, but it is in Metric, and seems to be in 52 volt mode, because it displays 66% charge when full. I can't seem to get it into Settings mode. I hold the + and - keys down, and nothing happens, even after a minute...

To get into the parameter settings, you press both the up and down buttons within 5 seconds after powering up the display. If you wait 5 seconds, then pressing those buttons only allows you to reset the trip odometer.

Note that the KT displays don’t support a 52v nominal battery. They will work, but you can’t use the battery bar display and need to set the display to show real time voltage and use that to determine battery level. Setting C12 to 7 will at least provide some low voltage cutoff protection in case the BMS fails, but it’s still too low for the lvc for a 52v battery.

I'm running a 48 volt LiFePo4 pack. The issue is that the controller/display is showing no more than 70% charge when it's full.
 
I still can't get into the settings. I thought it was set to 52V because I swear that somewhere in the searches I did, it mentioned that 52V was the highest option. Can anyone link to an actual manual for one?

KTs have no parameters to set voltage. They auto detect the battery voltage, so no settings.

I have come across one (LCD11) that defaulted to auto detection, but allowed the user to specify 20V, 30V, or 40V cutoff voltages in parameter L1. There isn't a setting for 52V, though. One of the C parameters allows modification of the low voltage cutoff by up to 2V up or down. So if set to cut off at 42V, that would be 3.0V/cell for a 14S battery. None of that affects the useless state of charge pictogram, as far as I know.
 
I ended up putting in a new, color SW900, and so far, so good. Which is to say that I was able to program it, but haven't ridden the bike since...
 
lol. I guess we all assumed you were running a KT controller the LCD3. Now it all makes sense why it wasn’t working.
One reason why it's typically helpful to provide complete details on the system along with the specifics of the problem and how the problem came about (whatever happened before the problem started).
