I always buy the tool. Even if I only use it once and it ends up costing more than having it done for me, I like knowing how to do things myself.
Bikes and motorcycles are so pleasant to work on compared to cars. If I go to hell it will either be like working underneath a car with crud falling in my eyes for all eternity or trying to reach a fastener I can't see up underneath a dashboard full of razor sharp metal.
Back to the controller- You can program Lyen's hot-rodded Infineon controllers with a USB connection and a laptop or a Cycle Analyst v 2 or 3. The great thing about the CA3 is that you can have pre-programmed power settings that you can access with the touch of a button. You can set one for low power and low top speed, the second for more power but still limited speed, and the third for full gonzo off road riding. In addition to staying within the law, the low power settings give you great battery range for commuting.
Busy day today. Shipped a lot of product, painted a lot of brackets, cast pulleys, getting ready for a massive pile of packages going out tomorrow. I want to clean up all of the old orders that have been sitting around for too long. You're going to start hearing some noise from the first people getting their kits. SpinningMagnets should be going off any day now.
