As far as I understand your torque sensor is defective?! Otherwise would not have to search for other input sources?!
You can attach any PAS that provides a quadrature signal. There are various offers, from classical PAS disc types to complete BB sensors.
Yes, I do have a torque sensor, but the controller doesn’t respond to it, so most likely the sensor has failed. That’s why I was thinking that maybe it could be used either with a throttle or with a regular magnetic PAS sensor.

it's quite easy to check the sensor with a multimeter. An analogue voltage signal on the tor pin that increases when stress is applied on the chain by the force on the pedal, a digital or sine signal on the sin and cos pins when the pedals are turning.
