100 µW
Hey all,
I've got a Turnigy SK3 6364 254kV outrunner and a Turnigy Trackstar 150A cont ESC here, and I seem to be having some sort of problem with not nearly enough power getting to the motor.
I'm powering it from a 6S1P 5000mAh pack, 6S being about the max voltage the ESC can safely handle, but, even at low-moderate speed, I get _very_ little torque, and can very easily stall it by hand. I connected my DMM in series and measured about 400mA current draw at low speeds, no load, and it only rises up to about 1.2A when I stall it completely with my hand. Even approaching max speed I can slow it down a fair bit just using my hand, and no load current is only around 5A. being a 2700W motor and a 150A ESC, I don't get why my power throughput is so low? The resistance of the motor is insanely low, I would have thought the ESC would be trying to pump as much power through as possible!
Is it possible an air based ESC would have suited me better?
Any pointers?
Dan
