MBS ATS trucks

Hey guys started to do some jumps on my EMTB. nothing really big just some small jumps on pavement. Today I did 2 jumps on the ramp and I definitely went off the ramp wrong, I didn't jump I just went over the end of it. I landed the board but I saw in the video I hit the rear truck pretty hard on the ground. Watch the video:

The mount snaps after another jump while I did a small jump on the pavement. Here is the pics:

The brake for the ATS trucks are a little weak but I definitely think this was my fault. Might go with spring trucks. If I can't fix it.

Anybody else had this issue?

It does not matter what truck you buy. If you mount the motor like that it is going to break over and over. That chunk of metal you have in hand here may as well be 200+ pounds when you hit the ground. Its just poor design. Lots of people use clamp type of brackets that hug the truck making them a lot stronger. Others like to use plates that spread the stress out accross the bottom of the truck. What you have there is probably the worst way to mount a motor on these trucks. If you want to get air or plan on doing a lot of offroading, consider a clamp type of mount made out of aluminum or another light metal. I am a big guy. I have eaten a few MBS trucks and learned my lessons. My daily commuter has some 1/4 inch aluminum angle holding my giant brushed motor. I keep my shaft as close and above the center of my tire as possible. The idea is to put as much of the wieght above the axel as possible. Even with a different mount you should raise that motor as close to 12 oclock as possible and stay tight on the tire. It will ride a lot nicer. Let the tire take the beating.

Please show a picture of your mount how you did it. I'm trying to get ideas for my next build which will be a mountain board. I already order the Matrix Pro trucks, 9" trispokes, and e-glide Kenda tires. oops, must also mention some tubes from some online scooter store (thanks Pediglide!).

I was planning to make a mount like Pediglide's but I wanting to see more of what others are doing. If others have any pics I would love to see them. thanks!

Thanks for the info. Your 100% right I should have seen that from the start. Going to redo my mounts.

Got any ideas how to clamp it?
