Hi Guys,

I'm chasing some real world data of the power (kw) output required for cruising at around 100km/h on a elmoto. I understand this figure is going to be somewhat broad with different size bikes, aerodynamics, motor efficiency etc but some figures including bike type and setup etc would be great.

Currently I think around 6-8kw for a smaller type bike (100kg) with a fairly upright seating position but it would be great to see some real time data.

Cheers

8-10 kW sounds about right. I think that's what Voltron Evo manages - 212 kg bike with lots of power. It's drawing about 12 amps at 640 V.

Ditto for a Vectrix as well. 7.5Kw in a tuck under the screen, 10Kw upright.

Fits well with my experience and theoretical calculations for the power demand at the wheel (in kW) in this table:

So for an eMoto (Enduro) with bad air drag coefficient and upright position I would predict about 9.2 kW power demand at the wheel. With eta_controller=0.95 and eta_motor=0.88 this would be 11 kW power demand from the battery at 100 km/h.
It's interesting to see that folded on a superbike the power demand at the wheel is only 5.8 kW.
