Q-factor nightmare

We have a BBSHD in stoker position on our tandem. Being a tandem, there’s a sync chain connecting both cranksets. The additional chainring at motor has to be on a traditional crankset so both cranks are in sync. I tried adding a chainring directly to the motor but when I stop pedaling my stoker’s cranks still spin independently. Long story… Anyway with the Sugino cranks I’m using the stoker Q-factor is close to 200! I have to use a wide spindle bb in the front in order to get a mostly straight chain line for the sync chain.

So, anybody know of non-e bike square taper cranks that will give us a narrower setup in the back? See photos

You should look thru Neptronix' build threads; I dont' recall which ones he used.

I can't find any exceptionally narrow cranks.
I instead only buy mid drives that have normal-ish Q factors ( that unfortunately excludes all the cheap chinese drives )

These pedals have a super small amount of inset and can bring the feet in ~10mm each, which helps counteract a wide BB
