Does anybody have an alternative selling point since the transmitter is sold out at hobbyking for weeks in a row ! https://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__31671__HobbyKing_HK_GT2B_3CH_2_4GHz_Transmitter_and_Receiver_w_Rechargable_Li_ion_Battery.html

thanks!

Get one of these.
I have 2 and they work better. Sinks up faster and has a speed adjuster that works.

thanks for the tip.
Could you do me a favour ? By measuring the sizes of the receiver in mm ? It's not mentioned on the site and I need to know if it fits in my small box ....
thanks in advance

A follow up for anyone having trouble getting it to bind:

I couldn't get the receiver and transmitter to bind using the technique in the instruction sheet. I contacted Hobby King, and their response was to try this:
Power on the receiver with the transmitter off and the bind plug in. Once it was on, then turn the receiver on. This worked perfectly for me.

MIne will bind easily if I follow their instructions, wait for the red light to go solid and pull out the bind at that instant (before it starts to blink again). Will bind every time for me unless low on batteries.
Also the controller in my opinion works very well, never looses signal and only gets flakey (again) when low on batteries.. It will however go through 4 AAA batteries in about 4-5 hours... Donot trust the little red light.. it will be ON even when the transmitter is not signalling correctly. I have modified my armor to include a small pocket under my chest piece where I keep 4 fresh batteries in case they run out in the middle of the run.

Mine just keep flashing and don't end up solid. I might give jabberwocky's trick a try and see if it fixes it.
I spoke too soon, apparently. It initially paired and worked for maybe 5 minutes, but then suddenly stopped/unpaired, and now won't pair no matter what I do. Blink blink blink blink...

I emailed Hobby King again. I might see if I can send it back and get the gt2b instead. The Quanum is nice and compact, but so far its been a royal pain to actually get it to consistently work.

Nice you found it cheaper! I'm telling you guys. This ones better. Not as small, but pairs without all of the BS and you can set the speed back for your kids or sissypants friends to ride slow.

Measurements of receiver: 38mm x 26mm x 12mm

thanks for measuring, it will fit my black box.
So just ordered one.
Will let know my experiences

For those still having issues with the Quanum:

After much testing and playing with it, I suspect my pairing issues are battery related. During my attempts to get to the bottom of it, I pulled my rechargable AAAs out and put them in my lacrosse charger. All 4 measured 1.34 volts or so (reasonably charged) but I topped them off, and after putting them back in it paired instantly and worked correctly. All my rechargable cells are very old, so I wonder if one of them is going bad and dropping voltage under load. I ordered some new cells and will try them when they arrive and see if that solves the pairing issues I've been having.

My quantum is hard to pair with brand new aaa's. Not sure what the issue is, but it isnt worth the hassle

Nice! I think they changed it a bit though. Mine has 2 more adj. knobs. 1 throttle/ 1 steer. It enables me to set a top speed on my board.

Great to hear..I have one on order..
I am eager to know how well the power limit trim works... So I can use it on my small board to limit the power when my son uses it..

Make sure you ordered the T3919A-1. It has the trim feature. I can adjust the speed down to like 3mph for my son. It works great!

Just by chance this morning I figured something out with the quanum controller. If I power my board up first and wait for the second set of "sinc" beeps, (it sincs up before the remote even has the batteries in it.) Then pop in the battery cartridge and turn on the remote it works perfectly. Every time.

I'll have to test that out today. I'll report back.

I might found something. try using rechargeble batteries. Those are 1.2v instead of 1.5v each.

i haven't had any issues since i swapped them,
