Hey folks, in light of the great news that our forum is not going to to dumps, I thought I would post more great news of my own. I need to put one of these on my bike:

Because my wife and I are having one of these:

And because of the extra room needed by the kid, I'll be needing to go to a smaller battery chemistry... i.e. LIPO  Lol

Congratulations. Fantastic news. Great to hear you are going Lipo. Oh and a kid too.

First time I took my son on my ebike with a similar seat, he was a bit scared. "Dad. Slow down. Bumpy."
A few rides later.... "Faster. Faster. Faster." :D

Kids are great.

congratulations dequinox!, just imagine when your kid is the age you are now what battery chemistry will he/she be using. sure hope it's not still lipo

Congrats.

I love you people. Only here does the child seat mod come before the SUV.

Congrats! :D

I'm sure you will in a few years also be making an ebike for the little one too!

:!:

Thanks you guys, yes I am lucky and can't wait to start this journey too; and no I won't be sticking a newborn on the bike ha ha ha!
Will definitely be plotting a bike with a set of 12" wheels in the kW region though...and body armor for a 7yr old

And MUD!!! We still have yet to meet up and ride! My bike is basically functional. I am free all next week pretty much...except evenings. Let me know if you're in a position to go for a ride! And thanks for the congrats!

That's quite an upgrade!

Great news dequinox. Raising kids takes forever, but passes all too quick. Enjoy.
I will Rassy, and thank you again so much for the lithium batteries and everything. I have a nice folding bike now, but unfortunately the fork doesn't have enough clearance for the motor. I instead will be building a push trailer out of the parts you gave me, and will let my wife use it so she'll go on bike rides with me more often! That project will start here fairly soon actually... I haven't had time over the last year since I'm an engineering student still, but it's got to get done before this little angel shows up!

Well since I haven't been on the forum in a couple months I thought I would update with a bang, so to speak:

Meet my New Years Eve born daughter:

Dylans a dad (net).jpg

Congratulations! May she prosper and grow up into an independent well-thinking woman!

In the meantime, get a trailer and a baby-basket that fits it, and drive away..

congrats!
(just in time for the tax deduction also...win-win)

Yeah she rolled in at 11:41, literally JUST in time :D

Thanks guys, here's hoping this world undergoes some changes that make it a good place to raise a child soon... i will raise her no matter what but I'm hoping more reasonable and peaceable times are ahead.
